I got this press release from the Lake District National Park Authority which I thought worth passing on verbatim:
Roving green transport ambassadors are needed to travel the Lake District and help persuade visitors to leave their cars behind.
As part of the GoLakes sustainable travel programme, the voluntary posts are being advertised to help decision makers gauge opinion.
Travel expenses will be paid and successful candidates will play an important role in gathering data.
Lake District National Park Authority's volunteer support apprentice Courtney Alderson said a key task would be to interview visitors on buses, at visitor attractions and on newly developed cycle routes.
She added: "This is a brilliant opportunity for people who not only care about the Lake District, but want to promote a more sustainable future.
"Information gathered will be invaluable in finding out what our visitors think about existing services and in formulating policies.
"This will really appeal to all those who love meeting people and enjoy getting out and about in our beautiful scenery."
Anyone interested should contact Courtney on 01539 792891, email
