Visiting windermer for a few hours

Hello Im going to visit windermere in november with 2 friends. We will arrive by train to windermere train station. It will be for about 6 hours. Is it possible to walk from the train station to the lake area? How long ?

The lake is about 0.7m west of the railway station so you'll be there in about ten minutes.
