Missing Topic/Thread?

Just wondering if it would be possible to reinstate a topic/thread that seems to have gone missing?

Back in 2016, one of my walks included Bowfell summit, where I was able to photograph an "OS datum arrow" chiselled into a large boulder.

The photos were included in my walk-report for that particular walk. - See; - https://www.walklakes.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=428

However, I also had some dialogue in a separate topic, specifically about that OS datum arrow.
(That separate topic, viewtopic.php?f=18&t=429&start=10#p788 , was referred to in the above mentioned walk report). i.e: -

" Up at Bowfell summit, I was pleased to discover that the sun was in just the right position to highlight the Ordnance Survey bench mark "arrow", chiselled into one of the large summit boulders. I've been here many times, but had never previously seen it showing such pronounced definition. EDIT: Following some email dialogue with Ordnance Survey, there is some uncertainty as to the origins of this bench mark. See: - viewtopic.php?f=18&t=429&start=10#p788 ".

Today, I wanted to copy a link to that topic to a friend, but when I clicked on it, it took me to the main forum index, and not the specific topic in question - As though the topic was no longer there?

I have searched through all the titles in the general discussion and mapping forums, and cannot find that topic.

Regards,
Mike.

It looks like an error in the conversion. If you look at the source of your post it reads:

[viewtopic.php?f=18&t=429&start=10#p788](https://www.walklakes.co.uk/talk/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=429&start=10#p788)

If you edit it to read:

[viewtopic.php?f=18&t=429&start=10#p788](https://www.walklakes.co.uk/talk/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=429&start=10#p788)

Then it will render correctly as a link to your post thus:

viewtopic.php?f=18&t=429&start=10#p788

Apologies that I missed this at the time. I did put a lot of effort into trying to correctly convert all the old bbcode posts into markdown posts but it looks like I missed this edge case.

No problems Paul. - Many thanks for investigating and finding the "errant" topic that wasn't!

Mea culpa! - When the link in my Bowfell walk report didn't work, I looked through all the titles of topics in the General Discussion and Mapping forums - but didn't think to look in the Supporters forum.

Had I done so I would most likely have found the "missing" Benchmark topic straight away.

Regards,
Mike
