Just a quick note to mention that the Wainwright Society have republished "The Outlying Fells of Lakeland" which AW decided to write to cater for those "who, because of age or infirmity, must be content with milder expeditions on lesser fells". As such it features 56 of the lesser fells which have been revised and updated by Chris Jesty.

It struck me that the book might also be very suitable to the many new walkers who might wish to savour a lesser Fell but still with great magnificence.

Ideal Christmas present. Available direct from the Wainwright Society at https://www.wainwright.org.uk/merchandise/
