We've been busy with quite a few new walks. Hope you can get out to try some in this rather wet summer!
Blencathra - Hall's Fell Ridge
Blencathra via Hall's Fell Ridge - a classic ascent of Blencathra. Lots of scrambling, shear drops, stunning views. What better way to climb a mountain!
Catbells, Maiden Moor, High Spy - A Half Newlands - if the Newlands Horseshoe has always sounded a bit too much, try this. Catbells is the grand guardian of the valley and a cracking walk in itself. Here we follow along the ridge and down to Dale Head Tarn before walking out along the upper Newlands Valley with towering cliffs and beautiful waterfalls.
Robinson, Hindscarth and Dale Head - A Half Newlands - the other part of the Newlands Horseshoe. A few little scrambly bits liven up this already interesting ridge walk. On a clear day the views are just stunning.
Skiddaw - Dodd - following forest roads and tracks to Dodd, an outlier of the Skiddaw massif. Returning on a narrow path through woodland, in spring foxgloves and other plants rush to flower before the bracken of summer takes over.
Ullock Pike, Longside Edge, Southerndale
Ullock Pike, Longside Edge, Carl Side - a fantastic ridge walk, choose to tackle the rocky bits head on for some scrambly fun, or bypass on easy paths. This carefully planned circular walk avoids some potentially troublesome fields which during summer have cattle grazing.
