  • "Situated in a place where it is not ideal for dogs to run free."

Thank you for your feedback .However the garden photographs do illustrate that we have both fencing and hedging and not fully enclosed fencing. We however do provide an additional doggie fence which I believe my housekeeper Caron did offer.I was happy that you did enjoy all the other amenities of my home.Thank you for sharing your feedback Property Owner

  • "We had a lovely week break."

The cottage was spotless and they included nice welcoming touches such as bread, milk and butter etc. It is out of the town a bit but when do you ever spend the whole time in to cottage! Loved it and we will be back for sure.

The property

A delightful, spacious terraced cottage, in the heart of the old mining village of Cwmgors, 6 miles from Ammanford, at the base of the picturesque Black Mountain.

Lovingly restored with great attention to detail, with warm, welcoming accommodation, this charming cottage offers a cosy sitting room, a well-equipped, sunny kitchen with dining area, and three attractive, comfortable bedrooms.

The pretty garden has a patio area as well as a meadow garden, which has an abundance of wild flowers, attracting many birds and butterflies.

There are views of Black Mountain from the garden, making it a lovely spot for outdoor dining.

This wonderful cottage lies at the crossroads of four areas of natural beauty; to the east you can be at the peak of the Black Mountain in the Bannau Brycheiniog National Park (Brecon Beacons) within half an hour and to the west lies Swansea Bay, the Mumbles and the stunning Gower coastline.

The epic and romantic castles of Carmarthenshire lie just 20 minutes away to the north, whilst the hauntingly beautiful Vale of Neath, and its waterfalls, lie very close by to the south.

A convenient, relaxing base, and a wonderful cottage for a memorable family holiday.

About the location

CWMGORS

Ammanford 6 miles; Neath 15 miles.

The old mining village of Cwmgors, nestling at the base of the wonderful Black Mountain, offers visitors a shop, pub and a takeaway. There is superb walking from the doorstep, both in the Black Mountain and, further north, in the Amman Valley, with their vast moorlands, prehistoric burial sites and medieval castles, and acting as the gateway to the Bannau Brycheiniog National Park (Brecon Beacons). The bustling market town of Ammanford is 6 miles away, and boasts a variety of shops, tea rooms, pubs and restaurants, while the larger town of Neath is just a short drive away. For racing lovers, one of only two purpose built, all-weather trotting race tracks is close by at Tairgwaith, and holds regular race meetings from March to September. To the south is the magnificent Welsh coastline, with fabulous sandy beaches along The Mumbles, the National Wetland Centre of Wales and Pembrey Country Park. A central base for discovering all this part of Wales has to offer.
