  • "I was delighted to see that there is now a bridge over the river to gain access to the cottage, (I was somewhat concerned about the prospect of crossing the ford!"

) This is a delightful, thoughtfully furnished and equipped and very comfortable cottage, which made a wonderful base for me, away from the hustle and bustle of life, and with an opportunity to relax and see a bit of hill farming at first hand. Fabulous walks through the valley and out on to the mountainside, right from my front door. The couple who own the farm and the two adjoining holiday cottages, went out of their way to make me welcome, give directions for some great walks and gave much valued help when a tyre on my car needed replacing. The most enjoyable holiday I have had for many years. I very much hope to return in the future.

It had everything you needed and more, it was very quiet and very comfortable I could have lived there Ben the owner said I wasn't the first to say that. If you want a good base this cottage is ideal, not far from Porthmadog where the Ffestiniog railway is, Portmeirion village and the Llanberis Pass, all worth a visit. A great big thank you to Ben and Sandra for letting us stay in your lovely cottage, hopefully we will be back soon.

The cottage can be found 10 minutes up a small country lane from Llanbedr, above a beautiful small river, which our dog loved, and within trees and surrounding mountains. The cottage was perfect for me, my husband and dog, with a big bedroom, cosy living room/kitchen and a gorgeous fire place, my favourite part, I'm sad it was too warm for a fire! The cottage is on a sheep farm and it was nice to get up and see the sheep around, the atmosphere is so peaceful and quiet. The hosts were lovely, making sure we had everything we needed and had a few lovely chats, but never intrusive. I'm gutted I never got to sample the Jam!! The cottage has amazing character and we'd love to come back

The silence is deafening! The cottage is gorgeous: comfy, homely & traditional, but with modern twists, & a perfect place to - quite literally - get away from it all! Ben & Sandra were delightful 'hosts' & couldn't be more warm, friendly or helpful. Using the log burner was great & there are SO many places to visit within 20 miles. We walked up Rhinog Fawr, using a path that starts from the cottage, wandered happily around the Nantcol waterfalls a few miles away, & had a lovely pub meal in the Victoria Inn in the nearest village, Llanbedr. If you want peace & quiet, this place is paradise.

It felt such a remote and peaceful place, yet the village was only a mile or two down the road. The farmer and his wife who own the property were very approachable and the farmer, whose family have been in the valley for several generations, was happy to give advice and share his knowledge of this lovely area.We still have to finish off walking the Rhinogs and I would not hesitate to go back.
