  • "The property faces a large storage facility which was very unsightly, the TV and WiFi reception was awful, the bed was uncomfortable, the toilet had an unpleasant smell in the mornings and the owners had a nice dog that constantly ran around your car as you were parking up without any supervision to control it."

It is so useful to always receive feedback from guests and I am so sorry that your stay was impacted by so many things. It’s a pity you did not make me aware of them when you were here. The TV signal is governed by the transmitter so is out of my control as is the WIFI reception signal. I mentioned it to recent guests and they said it was more than adequate and did not impact on their stay. The bed has just had a new luxury topper added which could have been removed to try and enhance it’s comfort for you. Regarding the odour in the bathroom ... all drains and pipes had been inspected the previous Friday and all was clear. All bathroom outlets had also been bleached. The ‘storage facility’ mentioned is our primary wood store and as such there’s not a lot we can do and it has never been mentioned before as there are lovely views across the fields from the bedroom window. I apologise for Molly the collie being over friendly. This is all such a shame as your partner left a lovely comment in our book with both of your names... ‘Lovely time, beautiful place , lovely Molly ‘ Property Owner

  • "Enjoyable stay in a beautiful area of Herefordshire."

Very friendly hosts who provided a warm and welcoming stay. Very hot when we were there so could not do as much walking as we would have liked. We were able to use the garden which was beautiful, a nice place to take a glass of wine in the evening.

  • "This is a spacious, comfortable apartment in a beautiful place, ideal for walking."

We found Kittiwake's Walks around Hay-on-Wye was a helpful guide to walks, and the Information Shop opposite the Car Park in Hay very helpful.. The one thing I would change is the bed - beds with footboards don't work for tall people like me (6' 2")!

  • "Stargazer’s Loft is a very comfortable and well equipped cottage."

It is quiet and surrounded by fields and open countryside. The owner made us very welcome and provided lots of information about local walks and local pubs and restaurants. The cottage is very convenient for Hay-on-Wye, and for both the Black Mountains and Brecon Beacons.

Very clean and well equipped cottage. Me and my brother thoroughly enjoyed our stay and everything exceeded our expectations. Lovely walks and countryside around the cottage. • "Lovely spot for touring the local area, milk and cake in the apartment on arrival, friendly owners on site."

Took the local bus to Hereford, stops right outside, also found two good farm shops with restaurants and lots of other goodies, one was Oakchurch, the other The Railway Line, there are leaflets in the apartment for both with directions etc. Hay on Wye is a lovely town with a variety of shops and cafes.

  • "Lovely peaceful cottage."

Lounge much bigger than expected. Bathroom lovely and modern. Bedroom large and comfortable. Kitchen area had everything you needed and lovely Eccles cakes plus jug of milk on arrival. Beautiful vases of flowers in lounge and bedroom was a thoughtful touch. Plenty of room for hanging clothes and small walk in wardrobe handy to store shoes and bags etc. Lovely views overlooking the countryside and in the warmer weather chairs and tables outside. A car would be recommended as nearest town of hay on Wye was about 3 miles away and 2 pubs within 2 and 3 miles. Plenty of walks and cycling paths from Brecon to do. All in all a lovely few days in Wales.
