  • "Having stayed at Burnhope Shooting lodge before we were excited to be returning to this luxury house, and we were not disappointed."

The house is beautifully kept, large comfortable bedrooms with the advantage of all ensure bathrooms. Spacious lounges and dining rooms. Positioned on a reservoir, in perfect location for walking and fishing. Separate building with snooker table, sitting area and toilet ideal for family fun n games. Excellent service by Karen, house manager and Nick, who were on call if we had any questions or problems. Surrounding villages are easily reached by car, or walking if you need to exercise. We highly recommend this lovely house.

  • "This is the second time a group of us have stayed at Burnhope Lodge and we will be back again."

The lodge is so warm and comfortable, plenty of hot water, very spacious bedrooms, with ample wardrobe space. Spectacular views from all the windows and the sunlight streams into the lounge all day. The snooker room is a great asset, separate from the lodge with its own little bar and kitchen, and so cosy with a log fire burning next to a little seating area. It has a full size snooker table with plenty of space round it for the players. The lodge is set amidst wonderful countryside and next to the reservoir which has an easy walk round, wonderful for dog walking. Karen the housekeeper is so obliging and always on hand with a quick response by phone if needed. I cannot recommend Burnhope strongly enough, it’s wonderful!

  • "This is a beuatiful property, well maintained, well equipped and spotlessly clean."

We had 4 generations and 3 dogs celebrating a big birthday, and the property catered for all our needs. The boot room is a fabulous facility, the snooker room was well used, all ensuite bathrooms is a great bonus, and the space was fantastic. The industrial sized ice machine was also fantastic! The location is stunning with a dog friendly, push chair accessible, all age appropriate hour long walk around the reservoir right on the door step.

The perfect retreat for our large family group (including dogs). Lots to do and many places to visit -so much so that I’m sure we will return to do more.

The facilities in the house are more than sufficient. This week we walked the Hadrians Wall and every evening we came 'home' in this luxury villa.

  • "Burnhope Lodge was absolutely wonderful."

It’s in a beautiful position overlooking the reservoir. The lodge was clean warm and comfortable, an absolutely pleasure to stay there. We were a party of 18 musicians and the lounge was ample big enough to take all the musical instruments and sit comfortably. Cannot praise the place enough, and Karen the housekeeper was always on hand with a quick response when need. We intend to return next year for sure!

Thank you Annette this is hugely appreciated. It was a pleasure to have you stay. Looking forward to seeing you next year. Thanks Karen Property Owner

  • "Karen the house manager was fantastic and available for any queries."

The house itself is wonderful and wants for nothing. It’s very comfortable and well cared for and in a fantastic, tranquil location. Shame our wheelchair bound guest couldn’t access the games room but everything else was great for her and she thoroughly enjoyed her stay, the downstairs bedroom and wet room were perfect for those with mobility issues. There are no gates at the end of the driveway so if you have dogs you do need to be aware that the garden is not secure and keep a close eye on them. We’ll all hopefully be back next year.

  • "Amazing location by the reservoir."

We did loads of cycle rides and run round it every day. I am sure as our children grow older walking around would have been amazing too. Very comfortable- almost slightly too big for just 8 of us. Great views- just couldn’t take it in enough. Really enjoyed the sitting room and playing games together. Very friendly staff Highly recommended!

The Lodge was perfect for our needs - warm, comfortable and in a beautiful location with amazing views from every window. The snooker room was a bonus. Athol braved wind, rain and even snow at the BBQ to provide us with a feast of cooked meats and a variety of salads. Nick was extremely helpful throughout. We are already planning a reunion at the same venue!
