  • "The cottage was very good value for money."

Cosy , comfortable with great views in 3 directions from living room. Well equipped and met all our requirements.

A great base with some great views. Very quiet too!

  • "First impressions count, on arrival, the fence to the front of the property and gate, were lying on the ground."

It sleeps six, but you would struggle having comfy seating for 6 without being rather cosy, as there are only 2 sofas. There was no sieve or strainer in the kitchen, which made draining rice etc. somewhat difficult. There was one beer glass and only 3 drinking glasses, which again for a place that sleeps six, is rather poor. Having said there were some short comings, the place was comfortable, clean and plenty warm enough and we enjoyed are stay.

  • "The house was warm and cosy for our arrival."

Nice welcome pack of goodies including fresh milk. Everything clean and tidy. Had everything we needed for a family break. Well equipped. Location delightful. Kitchen taps a bit stiff but otherwise everything was perfect

Thank you for the great feedback and so lovely to hear that you had a great stay. Property Owner

  • "Stunning location and scenery."

Lochcarron is lovely.Cabin photos on Sykes website need updating. Would be nice to have better outside seats and maybe a table for drinks instead of 2 bench seats. Also area behind garage could be a nice seating area if sorted out. Living room sofa's a bit old but still comfy We prefer a full walk in shower better than Bath shower for us but this is not a problem just a option. My 2nd stay at cabin and Lochcarron this trip with my wife. We both really enjoyed visit would recommend to friends and family as well as anyone who wants a nice holiday. There are 2 very nice cafe's and some good shops and petrol stations close by which is useful.

  • "Lovely location set amongst other similar lodges in an elevated position overlooking Loch Carron."

Took a while to warm up, but after the first night we were lovely and cosy. Enjoyed sitting on the decking watching the sun go down. Living room was comfy and the information about local walks helpful. Kitchen could do with an update, but everything worked. Washer and dryer were so useful, thank you. Had night time visitors on the roof, never got to see them, but wondered if they were pine martens? Made quite a racket on the tin roof! We all enjoyed our stay and would come again. Thank you.

The owner's organised and straightforward approach was very much appreciated. Covid security has been carefully considered. Thank you, and we will return...

  • "Great cottage in a beautiful location - Beautiful wooden cottage in the middle of wildlife (saw loads of birds and deers behind the house)."

It's very peaceful so exactly what we needed after a crazy COVID year! Strathcarron is beautiful and this is a perfect location to visit Wester Ross. We had wifi issue however the owner was very quick in replying and finding a solution for us. The only downside would be that the curtain are very thin so if you are a light sleeper you might wake up very early , especially over the summer.

  • "Very comfortable and relaxing holiday."

The kids relaxed a bit as well. Lovely touch of a beautiful home made cake on arrival. Weather was great at the beginning and the end of the holiday. In the middle it was typical Scottish summer weather. The accommodation was clean and had been slightly upgraded since our first visit in summer 2017. Will definitely return.

  • "Extremely good value for money considering the location, facilities and the cleanliness of the property."

The owner kept in constant communication by email, making sure that we had a pleasant stay. The cottage has everything that's listed in the advert and much more. The kitchen for example has everything one needs to cook and serve most types of meals, for the listed number of guests (6), not just the obligatory pan and the couple of plates and cups you find in most other places. Electricity and heating was included in the price. Heating throughout the property was good, with no shortages of hot water at anytime during our weeklong stay. Surrounding areas have some of the best scenery in the UK. Applecross peninsula was breathtaking! All within driving distance or a long walk if one fancies! Overall, a really nice experience and we have no hesitation in recommending this cottage.
