  • "It was a lovely apartment and close to everything and I would definitely stay there again,my only complaint is about the WiFi it had kids safe on it and we were unable to get to some sites,ie: bet365 my husband does like a bet at weekend and this was blocked and oddly enough it wouldn't let me look up menus in pubs very odd."

    It is so convenient for shops and the town centre and an excellent base for exploring the Lakes. A parking space allocated is a bonus. The Keswick Convention is just up the road too. The apartment was very clean and welcoming with some lovely personal touches from the owner. It was comfortable and had everything we could possibly need to make our stay enjoyable.

  • "Andra Ghyll was a beautiful apartment it was so convenient with co-op nextdoor and must mention the Thai restaurant across the road which served wonderful food and service."

    The apartment was also right next to town centre though we got no noise at night even though Thank you for the bottle of wine which was much appreciated. I would certainly return to this property when returning to Keswick

  • "The apartment was in a great location, and was comfortable and well equipped."

    The dedicated parking space was a must. The area was quiet, apart from the trolleys being moved about at the supermarket next door, which made sure we never slept in! Only small niggles were the wardrobe in the bedroom (doors awkward to open) and a crack in the bedroom window, but would definitely stay here again.

    Very comfortable and cosy apartment just wish the shower was a bit more powerful and there was somewhere to dry the towels. Very well equipped kitchen with everything we needed including a cafetière. Very comfortable stay and convenient for visiting Keswick. Thank you for the personal touches on arrival!

    and position in Keswick. Lounge was particularly comfortable with excellent TV. . Only disappointment was a plumbing problem in the bathroom with the bath. Water would not drain so only allowed one bath in the 5 days. Otherwise excellent flat . Shame about the weather but would recommend the flat.

    We stayed Christmas week. The apartment had a lovely christmas tree and crackers. and the owners were lovely, checking we had arrived safely, and leaving complimentary wine and cake for us to enjoy. Our first stay at this property but we will return.

The owner David gave us a courtesy call and was on hand for any issues, but was not required as all the details were there for a great holiday. Without doubt we will be returning.   • "Andra Ghyll holiday Flat in Keswick is in a great location and as described on the website."

    ...it is literally minutes from pubs and restaurants on the main street. The addition of having a dedicated/private car parking space is a bonus in a very busy town frequented by a lot of holiday makers. All fixtures and fittings in the flat were in good shape and in general a very comfortable place to stay....felt very much like "Home from Home" . I would certainly come back to Keswick and hopefully also stay in Andra Ghyll apartment. Sykes Holiday Cottages, were very professional with good communication throughout right from booking the flat,right through to actual holiday break.

  • "We enjoyed our 5 nights at Andra Ghyll."

    The property is well situated for supermarkets, pubs, restaurants & the bus station is only 5 minutes away. The accommodation was spotless & every effort has been made to make you feel at home. The only criticism was the lack of basics i.e. bin liners, washing up liquid, toilet rolls & kitchen foil. We will most likely use this property or similar again.

    We found as older people a slight problem with the shower over the bath x We would have felt a lot more secure getting in and out of the shower if there had been a grip bar fitted on the tiled wall . This would have given us a help especially getting in to the shower Otherwise a very smart well decorated home from home

    We will certainly be using again. Location could not be better, right near the centre of Keswick, supermarkets on the doorstep and main bus hub just across the road. We used a weekly bus rover ticket (excellent value) and didn't use the car once.

  • "Very disappointed with the kitchen very small also the microwave on top of the fridge very difficult to use ."

    .no small step ladder I could not reach the top shelves…no dishwasher..quite expensive ..also a bit of a pain having to use a code every time to enter..However it was very central ..it was also difficult to find even using the sat nav … another complaint firstly having to visit the office to collect the keys from a one way street with no parking.I expected the key to be at the accommodation also having to return key to office..

    Fabulous central location, parking, cosy, clean, warm, good facilities. Good communication with owners if needed. We experienced 4 seasons in one week so can state that the apartment is really comfortable in all weather. I would recommend this apartment and would definitely book again. (We had just one moan. We are 'shower freaks' and found the electric shower lovely and warm but a bit feeble).

    Really convenient for the centre of Keswick, the shops and beautiful walks from the front door. Great that there is a parking space with the property. Everything you need for a stay is provided- i.e. hairdryer, iron & ironing board, can’t think of anything negative- only slight niggle was the low water pressure in the shower but it wasn’t really a big problem. Would definitely recommend to family and friends, we would love to stay here again.

  • "First impression when we entered the property was that it was incredibly clean and well presented."

    Very comfortable accommodation with everything we needed. Excellent location, easy to find with parking as described. Right in the heart of Keswick so walking to shops etc and the lake was great. If I was forced to find a negative it would be the low water pressure so the shower was not powerful but that's no big deal. The true test is "would we stay again?" and the answer to that is "definitely"

    The property was modern, clean and tidy, it had everything we needed for a very enjoyable weeks stay in Keswick. The property located at the end of Keswick high street and has its own private parking space. It was just a small walk to the 'ferry launch', which takes people along Derwent lake to access some very nice walking areas (nice not to have to use the car).

    The dedicated parking space is a real bonus in Keswick especially if coming in the busier weeks. It is very well equipped and tastefully decorated in a fresh modern style. Would highly recommend it as a place to stay

  • "The flat is in a fantastic position in order to forget the car and enjoy the village of Keswick."

    Moreover, everything in the flat is very convenient and nothing is missing in the kitchen, so we could cook and stay in the flat as in our home. Maybe you could explain more clearly in the welcome e-mail where to park the car, we did not immediately get it and we parked the car in another place ... a lady came and asked us why we were parking in her place.

    Only 1 toilet roll provided for a week, would have preferred more - other places we have stayed have provided these. Tried to contact the owner via text twice during our stay with questions re TV and the fire. No response.

  • "The property was ideal for access to the town and Pubs and good parking, good property if you like being in the town centre , it is very well equipped and clean."

    Minor downside was it is very dated and needs a little updating especially the pink low level toilet that needs flushing 2 or 3 times at least to clear it, also the lighting in the lounge needs another small lamp or a dimmer switch ,at the moment you have a 5 bulb ceiling fitting very bright or a single table lamp in one corner very dim. But don't let this put you off all in all a good property. Also I was impressed with the booking agent, I Email the agent on Sunday to say only 1 of the 4 bulbs in the kitchen ceiling light bar was working and the internet hub kept dropping out, both were fixed Monday morning.

KESWICK

Bassenthwaite 7 miles, Ullswater 16.6 miles; Cockermouth 13 miles.

The popular town of Keswick is the holiday centre of the North of the Lake District and has plenty to offer the visitor at any time of year. The town boasts numerous shops and restaurants to suit all tastes, as well as offering miniature golf, excellent parks, the famous Theatre by the Lake, a charming cinema, the Pencil Museum, a climbing wall, fishing and great mountain biking opportunities, whilst the beautiful lake of Derwentwater at the head of the stunning Borrowdale Valley is only a few minutes walk from the town centre. Nearby, between Braithwaite and Buttermere is the beautiful Newlands Valley, while picturesque Bassenthwaite Lake is well worth a visit. From a gentle countryside ramble to a challenging hike up Skiddaw or the famous Catbells, there really is something for everyone. Visit Castlerigg Stone Circle, the Jennings Brewery and Mirehouse, a grand house and gardens on the shores of the Bassenthwaite Lake, or take a fabulous boat trip around Derwentwater.
