  • "We had a fabulous stay at Treetops!"

The space is exactly as shown in the photos, the newly laid carpets gave this thoughtfully decorated flat a fresh feeling, and it was always warm - we did a full Christmas dinner with the kitchen. Fully recommend and would definitely stay again. Thank you for an amazing time.

Thanks for your very kind and complimentary comments regarding Treetops. We aim to offer the best possible service and are delighted your stay with us was fabulous! Look forward to seeing you again. Property Owner

  • "Perfectly located top floor flat in central Windermere with shops, supermarket and Trains/Buses a 5mins walk - so if you don't have a car it's an ideal spot to explore the Central Lakes."

It's a good sized, v clean apartment & while lucky to be staying during a heatwave, the only thing missing was a fan.

Thanks for your positive comments regarding your stay at our flat Treetops. We are delighted the experience was a very good one. Hope to see you again. Property Owner

  • "Brilliant apartment!"

Spacious, clean, quiet and comfortable with a great selection of books and maps to look through. Was the perfect base for our week exploring the lakes with the train and bus station, booths and sainsburys local all just round the corner. We just had to buy kitchen roll and extra loo roll. Would definitely recommend and would love to come back next time if it's available.

Many thanks for your comments on Treetops. We are delighted you enjoyed your stay in our flat. We very much hope that we will have the pleasure of your company in the near future on a return trip. Property Owner

Although we did have a big problem with the toilet flush. Needs proper attention. Found staff at Lakes cottages extremely helpful . We feel arrival time should be Three o’clock and departure time Ten o’clock. Would highly recommend this property.

Thanks for your comments. The toilet flush matter has been investigated and the toilet is in full working order now. Property Owner

A lift would be a bonus. Very convenient for the town and buses. A real bonus is the gated parking.

  • "I booked this flat for our son and family who were holidaying with us in Windermere for 2 weeks."

Very pleased with the flat although not so pleased with the washing machine which didn't work throughout the 2 week period. It was actually fixed the day before they flew home! the shower also left a lot to be desired but apart from these two hic-ups, the place was great.

Thank you for your positive comments about our lovely flat. The washing machine is only 18 months old but during your stay it appeared that the internal belt had slipped which meant the machine did not work. The Easter weekend plus bank holiday hampered our efforts to get the washing machine repaired instantly although engineers were booked in as soon as was possible, which was halfway through your 2nd week. We believed you were happy with the compensation accepted for the inconvenience and the local knowledge about the laundromat just 100 yards from the flat. The local office had not been informed of any issues with the shower so we assume that is a personal preference comment. We are pleased you thought our flat was great and hope you come to stay with us again soon. Property Owner

  • "Collection of the keys was really easy and the office is located very central in Windermere."

The private car park was very much appreciated as it was very busy when my girlfriend and I visited. We ate out all 2 days but there were plenty of amenities to cook if needed with plenty of space for 4 people. Everything was very well kept and clean so I couldn’t fault the place. Only aspect to consider is that this apartment is located on the third floor with quite a few steps to reach the top, so probably wouldn’t be suited to those less physically able. We would definitely return to this apartment. Thanks!

  • "Good points: Central location (back gate literally one minute from main street), secure own parking spot, quiet (except for yapping dog in another flat), very clean, and comfortable."

Lounge has books, a few DVDs, board games and plenty of local guides and maps. In addition there are new sofas, so the comment raised last year has been addressed. Kitchen area is well equipped, and unusually has a number of casserole dishes and measuring jug. Washer/drier, microwave cooker, dishwasher etc (with dishwasher tablets and non-bio laundry detergent). Make sure you find the intructions to all the equipment as they are not laid out but slightly hidden in a binder on the bookshelf! Good wifi. There were a few condiments in the cupboard and also handwash plus sanitiser. Property well lit - although on the third floor windows do not provide sufficient light when very cloudy. Photos accurate. The local staff at the offices (where you pick up the keys) were very helpful with a small issue I had - and are only 2 mins walk away. Not so good: Getting through to Sykes via their switchboard is difficult - long telephone waits. Information about their local offices is difficult to find (only found out the opening hours of the Windemere office by looking at the sign in the window - 9am to 5pm). In addition others have mentioned the property is on the third floor with no lift. Absolutely fine for most, less able may struggle.

  • "1. Well spread out layout and exactly what we had seen."

Most of the facilities matches what we saw in the listing details 2. Lovely apartment in itself, though 3 flights of stairs could be a challenge for most guests, especially the elderly ones. Unfortunately this isnt visible in most listings and you realise only after the booking which also was non refundable in our case. 3. Loved the roominess and open kitchen plan. All rooms were sufficiently lit too, so we could do with minimal lighting energy 4. All fittings, electricals were working well, so family was happy it had a fully functional kitchen and hot water to bathe 5. Sofas were sinking in, so may need a repair or replacement. 6. Stocking of basics like salt, seasoning / spices, sugar in the kitchen and additional soaps and toilet rolls in the bathroom seems a minimum standard everywhere, so was taken aback when we realised we had to stock it all ourselves. 7. Most properties even offer simple addons like bread, butter, kitchen tissues. Doesnt cost more than a fiver but goes a long way in comforting the guests and lets them settle in with a better first impression. Most would also then leave something back and this works well on a rolling basis

  • "The central location, with secure off-road parking was a real bonus."

The flat was spotless and cosy yet spacious enough and with clear information and instructions where needed. Lots of useful books and tourism leaflets to browse and some DVDs and games. We were very pleased to find a dishwasher and washer-dryer with detergent provided, and the flat in general was amply stocked with everything needed. The beds were comfy and the kids loved the bunk beds with wall lights. The non-slip tape on the ladders was thoughtful and there were several little touches like this that showed the owner's consideration. Yes, the furnishing is a little dated, but you expect that with properties like this and it was far outweighed by the homeliness, cleanliness and location. We would definitely come again and stay longer.

I stayed with my parents who, both, liked great comfort here. Its full-fledged kitchen facilities were also satisfactory which we used for our breakfast and dinner. One small tip is that there were a few dusts in several corners of the living room, the kitchen, and the bathroom that we could not ignore. It was a minor negative point and rest of them fabulous.

This light and airy apartment is ideal for a family holiday, and although right in the centre of things, the apartment is set in a quiet area for a peaceful stay and a good night's sleep.

The open plan living and dining area is light, comfortable and welcoming, with a TV and DVD player to entertain if the weather is bad.

The kitchen area has plenty of storage, and has all the fixtures you'll need for home cooking.

The bathroom is nicely tiled, and has a shower over the bath, with a hand basin, towel rail, and WC.

The main double bedroom is pleasant and spacious, with a good amount of storage, and the bunk beds in the second bedroom will be great fun for younger kids.

While you don't have your own private outside space, there is a shared outside area, which conveniently leads straight onto the main streets of Windermere, and with the Lake itself not far away, there's plenty of space for the kids to run about and let off steam.

With shops, pubs and cafes right on your doorstep, there's plenty to enjoy without leaving the area.

Bowness is also within walking distance, with more shopping, bars and restaurants.

There's also a cinema, theatre and various attractions, including the World of Beatrix Potter Exhibition.

Enjoy walks along the shores of Lake Windermere, or take the lake steamer to explore stops along the lake.

Further north, you can visit Grasmere, Ambleside or Keswick for more shops and attractions, including Wray Castle at Ambleside, the Keswick Treasure Trails, Hope Park, with its crazy golf, and a variety of museums.

Tree Tops is a very well-placed apartment from which to explore the whole of the Southern Lakes, for a family holiday never to be forgotten.
