  • ""We had a lovely stay in Beudy Isaf - a cosy barn conversion with a comfy bed in beautiful Southern Snowdonia."

The cottage is situated on a very well maintained working farm and caravan park with excellent facilities including a cafe & laundry. It's the perfect base for exploring, we recommend Precipice walk, Torrent Walk, Mawddach Trail, Dolgellau ( especially TH Roberts for excellent coffees/cakes). A few suggestions would make an excellent cottage - perfect. The wine and waffles were a lovely touch...but milk,, tea, coffee etc would have been appreciated after our journey. Sharp Knives, these are essential. A small vacuum would have been very useful (maybe a rechargeable one) as only a small dustpan and brush provided. More crockery - it's a pity to run the dishwasher half empty. A Shelf & handsoap in the bathroom would have been fabulous too. We really enjoyed our stay in this beautiful part of the world and would definitely return!

  • "We had a truly lovely time at our cottage but feel the stairs situation should be made clearer, they were quite scary to start with but did get used to them but was always aware to be careful, we have no mobility issues but ones that have wouldn't be able to manage them."

Also asked to leave as you find, whilst did my best to do that, there is only a dustpan and brush. Feel terms of stay tad regimented as not allowed to bring anyone back or leave dog in property. Apart from that would deffo recommend

  • "Beudy isaf was ideally situated for us, in the heart of beautiful countryside, although sitting adjacent to a farm and caravan park, it was very peaceful and quiet, and with exceptional attention to the maintenance of the grounds."

A perfect base for climbing Cader idris, visiting Coed dy brenin, the quaint little town of Dolgellau and also for exploring the magnificent coastline, with miles of golden sands and safe beaches. We found the cottage provided us with a very comfortable nights sleep, although the steep half tread staircase may be too much of a challenge for some, and we felt this should be mentioned in the details. The bathroom was very clean and smart with a wonderful refreshing shower, but I'm sorry to say that I found the kitchen utensils were rather minimal, though a quick trip to the hardware store in Dolgellau soon rectified the situation! Thank you, we had a wonderful holiday x

  • "Very clean and bright, well-located and quiet and an overall comfortable stay, although the sofa is quite lumpy."

While the wine and stroopwafels on arrival were certainly appreciated, it would have been nice to have tea/coffee/milk left to be able to make a brew after a long journey (they've been provided at most other places I've stayed, thus I didn't think to stop off for them on the way.) A great base for exploring this region of Wales and one we'd recommend.

  • "Lovely cottage, cozy, and a nice mix between modern and traditional."

Bed was super comfortable, the towels were so fluffy I was almost tempted to take one home, and the owners are lovely and happy to help with anything, and many tips about good walks in the area. The kitchen had everything we needed, and we were very sad to leave. Happily would have stayed longer, there is lots to explore in the area. Thoroughly recommend it!

  • "We really enjoyed our stay at Beudy Isaf."

the owners had obviously put a lot of care into converting the building into a cottage and it had everthing we needed, including a properly functioning woodburning stove, something most holiday cottages lack. There were a few issues with the television but Maria and Angharad went out of their way to get it sorted and were very helpful with any questions we had. Even though the cottage is next to the caravan site, we were impressed by how quiet and peaceful it was there. We are already talking about coming back in the spring to do more walks. Thank you for the bottle of wine - we went into Dolgellau and bought 2 more.

Cottage itself is bigger than it looked in the pictures and really cosy! The WiFi wasn't working during our stay, but to be honest it was nice to be off the grid and didn't impact us. Would definitely return!

The cottage was beyond our expectations on all levels as was the site itself, and the dog field a great success for Steely and Tommy daily. Snowdon can be seen and we did alot of Rhinog walking as the site is ideally situated for all walks hikes towns and beaches. We had an issue with the wifi but it doesn't alter the fact we didnt want to leave, so hope that sums it up and it made it more perfect being our first holiday together. Love Paula Chris Steely and Tommy x

  • "Lovely bathroom & shower."

Nice kitchen. Good TV with excellent choice of channels. Great location - quiet even though it's on a campsite. Bed uncomfortable. Sofa uncomfortable & strong dog smell (appreciate dogs are accepted but a squirt of air freshener or fabric spray would help). Only one mirror in the cottage which was in the bathroom (luckily plug socket outside door but cables only just reached into bathroom). Definitely need a mirror in bedroom too. Not enough accessible plug sockets upstairs. Dog hair on carpet by sofa. Wifi barely worked all weekend. No hand soap provided - would have been happy to take our own but this was not communicated prior to the holiday. Expected more for the money.

  • "A wonderful place for two adults and two dogs."

Great to have an enclosed area, secure for the dogs. The cottage itself was bigger than expected, extremely comfortable and some very thoughtful touches, a lovely shower room, bathroom, great shower. Very helpful and friendly hosts. The area is stunning and Dolgellau is a lovely small town, close by and easy to get to. Good facilities, Eurospar supermarket, petrol garage and a few pubs and take aways. The Indian take away, the Lemon grass, food was superb and really reasonably priced. The ship is very good and great food. Fantastic scenery and beaches, especially Harlech beach and the Ogwen Valley (a bit further, but worth it]. Cader Idris brilliant walks and scenery. Precipice walk a treat. Fairbourne sands wonderful. coed y brenin great tracks, we were there in the week and in January, a bit wet, so not many bikes, but there are separate walking only trails too. Useful shelter in the forest from the rain. We went in January so very peaceful and relaxing, not sure what peak season would be like. Based on when we went we would thoroughly recommend. Thank you to the owners for their lovely welcome pack and hospitality.

Perfect spot to explore southern Snowdonia. Very friendly and helpful hosts and I'd definitely recommend it (hope to go again myself). The only issue I had was that the wifi was very intermittent - completely outside the control of the hosts although they did all they could to try and help/reset it... just expect that mountains and wifi don't go together very well!
