  • "Had a lovely stay in a lovely property."

Very central and peaceful location. Everything I needed was available. Bed was comfortable. Everything was very good and me and my family would definitely recommend.

  • "This lovely cottage is well worth a visit."

Just a couple of blocks back from the front, everything is within easy reach at a very affordable price. The cottage feels quite spacious, is comfortable and well presented. Everything works as it is supposed to, including the very good shower [I hate those ones that just trickle!] The allocated car parking space is right outside the door and the electric gates easy to operate. We visit this area regularly and I would say this is easily the best value for money rental we have had.

  • "Whilst this property is well equipped and comfortable, I wish I had read previous reviews prior to booking."

This property may be a short walk from town and beach, but it is totally unsuitable for elderly people or anyone who has trouble breathing as it is extremely hilly and you will need to use car to get to either, paying quite high parking each day. On top of that we had issues with dirty shower mat, broken shower door, stained towels and dirty mugs when we entered the property. Because we didn't want to disrupt our holiday by waiting for these issues to be sorted, Sykes were very unhelpful when we pointed out these issues, continually stating that we should have pointed them out while there. We felt we were being fobbed off despite sending them photos of the problems we encountered. Needless to say we won't be using them again if they are not prepared to take complaints seriously. Checking back on previous feedback, there have been similar problems going back to 2019. Sykes are obviously not keeping check on properties they rent out. With the high cost of holiday accommodation now, people at least expect basic cleaning and true account of position of properties, both lacking here.

I'm sorry that you had issues regarding maintenance and housekeeping during your stay, had we been notified of these at the time these would have been dealt with promptly. Unfortunately your feedback is the the first that we have heard of any issue and they have now been dealt with. Property Owner

Easy instructions on appliances as well. The bed was so comfortable which I always have an issue finding a place with a comfy bed due to my back problems but this was like sleeping in my own bed. Hope to book there again

  • "A very well equipped and comfortable holiday home."

The owners have thought of everything. It has a very stylish, modern feel to it. The kids thought it was very cosy and loved it too! Nice to have some outdoor space also. It was also very clean, tidy and well maintained. It was nice to have secure gated parking and we soon found our way into Torquay by foot. Please be prepared for hill walk up and down. We are so glad we chose this property for our first trip to Torquay. We would have no qualms at booking it again!

Double bed mattress was too soft and the sofas uncomfortable, but didn't ruin my stay .. Private outside court yard lovely to sit out have breakfast/dinner . With this extremely hot weather there was 2 tower fans provided.. One parking space is provided right outside your door . The cottage is situated on a hill ok goin down to the beach/shops , quite steep walking back ok if u are fine to walk but if you struggle take your car or get a taxi . Overall a lovely holiday , definitely book this cottage again if visiting Torquay and definitely recommend it...

Would highly recommend it to anyone, Yes you do have to walk down either a steep bank or a load of steps to get into town but that’s a small price to pay for off street safe parking and a very peaceful location.

  • "This is a lovely property with good access to town centre, as many of you know Torquay is very hilly but this cottage was quite close to the centre."

The cottage itself was very well equipped it had great wifi. Kitchen was well appointed and everything worked as it should, shower and bathroom were excellent, would happily stay here again should the opportunity arise. The cottage was part of a larger house converted into various accommodations. Parking was straightforward and the instructions for arrival were simple and worked. We had one minor issue but a quick phone call to Paul and it was sorted in seconds.

It was also great to have an outdoor space/court yard. The only small thing to note if I was to be picky would be to consider getting new sofas as current ones a little un comfortable. However when you are out and about on holiday guess you may not be in much. Other than that great comfortable place to stay that is clean tidy and well decorated.

All in all a very enjoyable stay and would recommend it. Also quite good value

  • "Cottage generally needed a good clean."

There was bits of food on the settee where the cushions meet. The top of the stove was greasy and the shower had lots of black mould round the fitting on the shower door. The waste bins were dirty in the bathroom and the bedrooms. Near the front door there was a pile of leaves. The gutter leaked very badly on the night we arrived. We reported this to the owner who got someone out to look at it. He just cleared out the gutter leaving the mess on and around the front door step and up the front door. I cleaned and swept up the leaves myself. There could be a better welcome light at the cottage, I found this light when I cleared up the leaves, pit the batteries back in and fixed it back on the wall. I don't know if the owners have a third party cleaning person but they do need to check the premises regularly for cleanliness.

Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry that you experienced these issues during your stay. I hope they did not impact your holiday too much. We would like to inform you that all the issues you have mentioned have been rectified. Again we are sorry you experienced these and hope to see you again in the future. Property Owner
