  • "Rosemount Cottage was ideal for the six of us for two weeks."

It was very spacious and well equipped situated in a lovely position on the shores of the Clyde, and with the railway in Helensburgh we could travel many places. Car journeys to local attractions was easy and welcome to our youngsters to visit Loch Lomond Leisure, they really enjoyed their upstairs bedrooms. The only downside was no gardener so the grass was rather long, I did find long handle shears which I used to trim the bushes to allow us access to the bins and down the drive.

We enjoyed the space and the massive windows. Only comment would be that we arrived to no toilet paper which had us a little stuck until we could go out and buy more the next morning.

  • "We discussed with property owner whilst we were there that the property was cold(winter stay) and the heating had not been turned on prior to arrival."

Unfortunately we had a problem with the log burner too and just couldn’t get warm enough all week. The property is lovely…, old, big rooms, well equipped esp the kitchen. Could do with some new towels as they were like cardboard! We’d recommend it though we’d maybe try in warmer weather.

  • "What a gem of a place!"

Great comms with the owner, Jared. We replaced a missing cupboard door handle in the kitchen which we found there to say thank you! Maybe add a photo of the second double bedroom on your website, it's a lovely room. We were confused when we booked it as we half expected one couple would be sleeping upstairs in the twin room. So lovely. We would love to go back. The screen on the bath doesn't stop the water running onto the floor, just so you know, so we had "sit down showers". All food fun. The dog loved the area and the garden Thank you

The garden is huge and just a few steps behind it there is a nice trail one can walk the dog, which we really appreciated. The cottage itself is specious, the sofa is huge, the kitchen well equipped, it was absolutly clean and nice decorated. We would recommed it to our friends.

Very comfortable and lovely setting. Loved it. Only problem I had was with Sykes for the original booking when I couldn't travel due to Covid restrictions and money was taken out of my account even after repeated emails with no reply.

  • "Rosemount Cottage it is a lovely place and was perfect for our party size."

Kitchen is very big and well equipped. Bedrooms are spacious, and overall the cottage is nicely decorated with games and activities for kids and adults. There is a little pass from the back garden that can take you to the woods if you fancy a quick outdoor. Cottage is located around 20-30 min drive from the attractions in the area. Communication with owner was fantastic and they were very helpful. Two points for improvement are the maintenance of the outdoor to allow a relaxing use of the beautiful space and (personal preference) upgrading of the mattresses in the bedrooms.

Thanks Orli. Feedback is really appreciated. Since your stay we have replaced the master bedroom mattress and will replace the others in July. Improving the garden for outdoor eating is also on the list. We do love the huge garden and uninterrupted lawn but perhaps some small amount of paving to make room for an outdoor table would be a wise addition. Property Owner

  • "We had an excellent stay at Rosemount Cottage which is a really comfortable and cosy place to stay."

The owners were very helpful ahead of our stay as the property is quite tricky to find and so they have a hand drawn map showing exactly how to get to the place and where to park. The location is excellent overlooking Gaer Loch and a few minutes' drive from the lovely town of Helensburgh. The town has everything you would need having a mixture of supermarkets and local shops, Callaghan's butchers was particularly good with friendly service and top-quality meat. The house had everything we needed for our stay and is in a very peaceful location. As a base for exploring this corner of Scotland it was excellent within easy reach of Loch Lomond and other attractions. It is also well situated for exploring the other lochs and stunning scenery. We can also recommend The Hill House in Helensburgh as a place to spend an hour or so looking round a fantastic house. Helensburgh also has some great restaurants; we particularly enjoyed meals at La Barca Tapas and for a special treat a seafood spectacular at Cattle and Creel. All in all we would heartily recommend the house and the local area.

This is a fantastic, spacious, well equipped house in a lovely location. The garden is enormous and we were able to use it as our dog's night 20 minute last walk which was ideal. There is a real feeling of space in the living room, kitchen has everything you want and bedrooms are very nice. The location is ideal for Helensburgh and has easy access to Loch Lomond and the surrounding area. Jared the host is very helpful, we had an issue with our car and he was very accommodating on us leaving a couple of hours later. Highly recommended and we will be back.

  • "Very often, you arrive at your holiday cottage and notice that it's not quite how you expected it, having seen photos on the website."

This time, the cottage was as spacious as the impression from the photos and it was stylish and homely. We weren't far from Helensburgh, but you felt as though you were further out in the countryside and away from it all, with the distant view of the loch in the foreground of the lounge area. We really felt at home in the cottage and it was a great base for meeting up with family, going further out for walks and from the doorstep it's a good starting point for runs and bike rides. We only had the chance to try out a couple of eateries, but both the Ginger Bread Man and the Riverhill Courtyard are worth trying (best to book Riverhill in advance). There were only the two of us in the end due to restrictions, but there is plenty of space for two couples or a family to stay in. We would have happily stayed here for another week!

  • "When we arrived at the property there were fly-ridden rubbish bins full and overflowing which stank."

They had not been cleared for several weeks and we had to ask for them to be removed. There was no hot water. I had to mess about with the thermostat/timer to programme the system to allow hot water. This should have been done by yourselves or the owner and should have been checked prior to arrival. The downstairs bathroom had a bath but the plug did not have a release mechanism. it was therefore very difficult to empty the bath water unless you had strong finger nails. This needs fixing as it is likely that someone fills a bath and then is unable to use the bath or shower for the rest of their stay. After a few days we noticed that the carpet in one of the downstairs bedrooms was wet. There was leak from the radiator. (This may have been ongoing for some time given the amount of water that leaked) The local agent arranged for an engineer to visit later that day but seemed put out that we were not going to be waiting in for them; as the agent surely this is their responsibility. When we returned from our day out (on holiday) the radiator was fixed but the carpet was still damp. No attempt was made to apologise to us about the room smelling of damp for the rest of our stay. No attempt was made to heat the room to get rid of the excess water in the carpet; (we did this ourselves). The towels used to mop up the water were put in the washing machine and left for us to sort out. A minor detail but reflective of our experience of your management of the property. Other minor factors; some knobs on cooker and cupboards come off in your hands, the internet linked to tv has to be plugged in but there are no instructions for this, Amazon Prime and Netflix did not seem to work. Our overall view is that the maintenance and management of the property is sloppy.

  • "Beautiful cottage - the photos don't do it justice."

Tucked away, so very quiet and peaceful. The view is stunning from the lounge window and the from swings in the (enormous!) garden was even better. It's a really quirky layout which our kids loved with loads of space. Log fire during the evening was amazing. Great location is what we think is a very under-rated area of Scotland. Close to the forests of the Trossachs and Argyll for walking and biking, the sea lochs are just stunning with Loch Fyne less than an hour away - rock pooling on the beaches was a real favorite and an hour by train to Glasgow for museums on wet weather days. Perfect. The only negative feedback I would give, which I would not want you to publish is that the kitchen needs a few more pots and pans and utensils. I understand they are new owners so they may well still be getting set up, but there were no wine glasses or side plates. A few big bowls to make a salad? That sort of thing, we managed as it was just us and the kids, but we've often hired cottages for a family celebration and cooked a big meal with everyone - we would have struggled to that here.
