  • "Lovely place to stay."

This was our third year staying there. Very clean, all the facilities you need and very comfortable. Weather was amazing. The scones, jam and clotted cream on arrival was a nice touch. Unfortunately closing for renovation at the end of season, otherwise would definitely go there again. Owners are lovely and helpful but not obtrusive.

  • "This cottage, and particularly it's location next to a quiet river gave us a lovely relaxing 1st week of our 2 centre holiday."

Virtually no traffic, very peaceful, lovely weather etc. Very clean, everything you need provided, including scones, jam and cream!

  • "Gorgeous property set in a beautiful, peaceful location."

Very comfortable. I've never slept so well. It has a lovely large conservatory where we sat and watched the birds after days out. The kitchen is well equipped and stocked. There is everything you could need provided. The owner is friendly and helpful. She left lovely homemade scones, with jam and cream for us, along with a pint of milk. We had some minor issues our 1st night, but she immediately attended and fixed the problems, despite it being Easter Sunday! My only minor pointer would be that the bedroom furniture needs updating. It's very old and we struggled to open and close the drawers in the chest of drawers, but VERY minor. I can't recommend this property highly enough and we hope to return next year.

  • "A warm welcome of a cream tea and pint of milk in the fridge, everything you needed in the kitchen was there, bedding and towels plentiful, lovely sitting on the patio in the autumn sun, bliss as very little traffic so minimal road noise , access is better from the top turning, don’t follow sat nav as it takes you to the smallest of the access roads."

Lovely relaxing stay with the added bonus of the large conservatory on the front

  • "Beautiful! The photos don't do the cottage justice!"

We as a family of four had plenty of room in this spacious cottage. We enjoyed our family days out and returned to the peace and quiet of lynhays. We were lucky enough to have amazing weather so took advantage of the bi-folding doors, opening up the cottage to the beautiful garden. Loved sitting outside listening to the birds and the trickle from the river. Definately would stay again.

A very enjoyable stay in a tranquil location, excellent facilities in spotlessly clean accommodation Great location to enjoy days out to Cornwall’s north and south coast attractions - as well enjoying the property itself on days you just want to chill

  • "We had a lovely 2 weeks stay at Lynhays, lovely large private garden with the river at the bottom of it."

It was a home from home feeling inside the property, 2 good size bedrooms very comfortable beds. We arrived to a plate of homemade scones jam & clotted cream and a pint of milk which was very welcome after a 5 hour drive. It took a few days to get used to the tracks down to & from the property as it is down at the bottom of the beautiful valley of Bathpool and they are very narrow but with a bit of careful driving you get used to it. The lodge itself is stocked with plenty of towels & bed linen and it has a log burner but unfortunately we tried it one cool evening and it was giving out a lot of smoke so we turned on the central heating, I'm sure if we had rung the owner who only lives a few minutes away she would have done something about it but we were happy with the C/H so didn't bother her. The long conservatary was lovely and when all the bi-folding doors were opened it made for a lovely large open plan living space for the 4 of us. Wouldn't hesitate to return to Lynhays we had a very happy & peaceful holiday.

  • "We had a lovely time whilst staying in Lynhays."

The scones with clotted cream and jam were very much appreciated. The best bit for us was the shear amount of open space inside the cottage, when all the doors were open. And the WIFI was a bonus as we did not see it mentioned on listing. We did however feel that the property needed some TLC, as a couple of things were either broken or not working properly. Things like window handles that are almost falling off and inability to shut windows in conservatory as well as a heater in there that did not work. Leaking taps and peeling off paint in bathroom made us feel the property was overpriced and possibly left to its own devises a little bit. That being said the location by the river is fantastic and it is a lovely quiet little village.

  • "We have just returned from a 2 week stay at Lynhays."

The cottage was absolutely fantastic. We were appreciative of the scones and clotted cream that greeted us on our arrival and found the cottage to be spotlessly clean and extremely well equipped. The hosts were lovely and helpful. The location is perfect for days sat in the garden, listening to the birds and the stream at the bottom of the garden, or as a base for days out exploring Cornwall.

  • "Fabulous cottage in the perfect location with everything we wanted & needed for our week away."

If you are “less agile or larger built” getting in & out of the bath to use the shower might be an issue as the space between the sink & shower screen is very close & the bath is very tall. We fully appreciate ALL the extra measures in place due to the current COVID situation & we had packed, cleaned, stripped bed & emptied fridge, freezer & bins in plenty of time to be vacated before 10, as requested - so felt VERY intimidated when at 9.30 we saw the 2 cleaners sat at the bottom of the drive drinking ‘mugs of tea’ & watching are every move. We hadn’t got into our car when they were already half way up the long drive...... only just shut the car door & sorting our satnav journey home, they had unlocked the door, masks on & entered the property it was still 9.55 am... Not the way WE wonted to finish our amazing holiday ........

  • "This is the best holiday accommodation I've stayed in."

Everything you need is provided. I stayed here with a friend, we arrived at near dark after a 10 hour journey and pulled up about 50m before the cottage to consult the directions, Liz and her son then came out of their house and guided us in. Lamps were already switched on, a fire laid and milk, a cream tea and a decent bottle of wine were waiting for us Normally in a 2 bed property one of you will get the inferior bedroom, here both are well furnished and comfortable, and the entire cottage is very clean and well equipped. The weather wasn't the best for our visit, but when you can sit in a huge conservatory looking out at beautiful countryside, it wasn't something that spoiled our enjoyment. The village is quite secluded and it is necessary to drive to both pubs and shops, but if you want to stay in a beautiful, comfortable property in a tranquil setting this will be ideal for you. Look at the description and the photographs as both are 100% accurate
