  • "Superb Cottage."

Very cosy and spacious. Well equipped kitchen. Our week included Storm Gerrit. In spite of this, the causeway was manageable even in VW polos. We were however glad we had taken jump start kits and used them as power packs to charge phones during the 8 hour power outage. We had easy access to the reindeer sanctuary, Green lake and Loch Morlich as well as Aviemore for shopping. The walks we did were stunning - a great white Christmas!

Hi Ruth, so glad you enjoyed your stay! Your snowy Christmas was well deserved after a big storm and power cut! Property Owner

  • "We all absolutely loved the cottage."

I had seen the photos on line and thought it looked lovely but the pics don’t really do it justice. It is a huge property. 5 of us stayed and we had another 3 family members visit for lunch and there was so much space. The views are stunning, I was very sad to leave. And the beds were very comfortable which seems to be a rarity with holiday letting. I slept very well, the house was very clean and near to so many places of interest. There are lots of games and dvds you can watch and even a table football which the kids loved. The owners were very generous to leave us lots of lovely Christmas treats. It was unexpected and much welcomed. The kids practically screamed when they saw, the chocolates, cakes, stollen bites, chocolate coins etc!! So to summarise, I would not hesitate to recommend this cottage and I would gladly stay again.

Thanks so much Rachael for your feedback - so glad you had such a wonderful stay. Property Owner

We love it due to the lovely open plan of the spacious living area, find it very well equipped and make use of the great bike storage and airing cupboard for all our walking and cycling stuff. We will certainly come back and stay again.

We enjoyed the location and the house very much, with easy short drives to many Munro walks and woodlands. Only one recommendation for improvement, a few smaller pots and pans would be useful.

Thanks Ashifa for your feedback - will sort out some new smaller pans :-) Property Owner

  • "Great property, much bigger inside than we expected."

Wildlife literally comes to the door (hares, stoats and deer). Ideal location for exploring the local area, walking and birdwatching. Yes the track is a bit bumpy but you are told about this, just drive slowly! We got lucky with the weather so didn't spend much time indoors but really liked the layout of the property. Hopfully we'll be back, especially at such a reasonable price.

    Would return.

Roomy, comfortable, well equipped and a peaceful tranquil setting. A few little niggles with some of the fittings (broken draw in kitchen, towel rail in bathroom). The long access drive was rather agricultural and unpleasant in the dark. Overall we would definitely book again.

Only complaints from any of our group was that the sofas were uncomfortable and the internet was a bit patchy but the views from the house are absolutely amazing and we wouldn’t hesitate to return again in the future, if you’re looking for a perfect base to explore the cairngorms and Inverness then look no further

  • "A beautiful property in an absolutely stunning location, we were bowled over by all the wildlife right outside out windows."

The 'unmade farmtrack' to the property is fine for normal cars (something we were concerned about), you just need to drive slowly. The property itself was clean and had everything we needed. It was a great size, plenty of room for a family of 6 and the football table was a huge hit with my children.

  • "Lovely peaceful location - second year we have stayed."

This year the house felt tired and in need of updating. Wi-fi was painfully slow, showers not great, clothes moths in bedrooms not welcome, cooker very slow and limited frying pans. It just needs a bit of an upgrade to reflect the cost of the week but otherwise a nice house - just felt a bit 3 star.

Lovely setting. Mattresses and living room seats could do with being replaced. Mattresses were very soft which caused back problems for some guests. Kitchen could be a little better equipped with pots and pans.

  • "A nice deceptively large cottage in a good setting with great wildlife to be seen."

Good comfortable beds but some of the lounge seating not so comfy. Dirty oven trays but that was obviously down to the previous guests not having cleaned them. Could do with decent outdoor furniture as existing table etc rather run down. Track down to cottage has some pretty large holes. Don't attempt to bring your supercar down! Overall though, an enjoyable stay and would be happy to return there.

  • "The first thing we noticed was how spacious this property was, it has all the things you need to have a comfortable week, the surrounding wildlife was incredible, the garden is just enough to have a kick about etc, the local convenience store isn’t too far away and Tesco will deliver an online shop to this location, the only downside was the drive, when we booked we owned a Land Rover so the drive wouldn’t have been an issue, we own a mid sized family hatchback now and it was a bit tricky in some places, the drive is a long windy stoney track and some of the dips did damage the plastic under trays of the car, this probably won’t apply to some cars which sit a bit higher and certainly 4x4s will fly up there, it’s just a small downside of a truly lovely cottage."

  • "Wonderful location - very peaceful and surrounded by wildlife including hares, roe deer, long-eared owls, barn owls and red squirrels in the local patch of forest."

The gravel track leading down to the cottage was very bumpy and not recommended for lowered /sports vehicles but once at the property you really didn't feel like you wanted to go back out! The bungalow is very spacious, with windows all around so had a great feeling of space. Heating system very good (although we had good weather in June) and really there was not much to fault - in fact we immediately rebooked for 2022!

  • "Lovely cottage in a fabulous location for spotting wildlife."

Well stocked kitchen with all mod-cons and laundry area. Large dining table (take cushions if you plan on lingering over food as wooden seats a little hard) or high stools at breakfast bar. Lounge and Games Room were spacious - games room currently not stocked due to Covid but I believe usually has board games available. The corner settee was very soft and comfortable but the other two were rather hard and with no arms we didn't find them as comfortable but that is personal preference someone else may well prefer those to the softer settee. Fast wifi that didn't drop out at all whilst we were there. Also got a good mobile phone signal. Great shower in both the bathroom and the ensuite. Very nice bedrooms with comfortable beds. The pillows were a little flat for our liking (but may suit others) - as there were only 3 of us we took the pillows out of the spare room and had 4 pillows each. Overall I would say practically perfect.

There is wildlife and lots of birds all around. We saw deer, hares, and red squirrels in the woods behind the house. We have done lots of walking, which was brilliant as we were very lucky to have beautiful weather. The sunrise and sunsets at the cottage are truly spectacular.

The kitchen was lovely and the views from the kitchen window were spectacular. Everything was presented really nicely with a lovely big TV in the living area and wifi was great. The property was well heated and cozy we just loved everything about it. The only downside and it was really quite trivial was the track way to the cottage we appreciated it was classed as unmade but there were a lot of holes and some of them were quite big, we had a large 4x4 so it didn't matter to us too much but I think if anyone had a small car it would be quite bone rattling. Overall we loved every minute of our holiday and if we could've picked the cottage up and took it with us we would have. The living space is fantastic, the kitchen is great with all the amenities you'd need. It was warm and very clean, with comfortable beds and lots of towels. The surrounding area is beautiful and so quiet, the Cairngorms itself on the doorstep gave us lots of things to do everyday. Postcode given doesn't quite take you all the way but the written instructions were very easy to follow. Only thing missing (if you're really bothered) is WiFi, but we didn't need it, 4G service was reliable if you need the internet, but we'd taken lots of our own games and DVDs for entertainment. Would recommend it to anyone, 100%
