  • "Well equipped with plenty of crockery, pans etc."

It was spotlessly clean throughout. Couple of minor issues. The sofa is a bed settee but isn't comfortable to sit on without putting cushions under the main cushions. It could do with a piece of thick foam putting under the cushions. The TV was quite difficult to use and didn't work a lot of the time. Thankfully we took our own firestick. One half of the toaster doesn't work. There is damp starting in the corner of the main bedroom wardrobe. We would still book again.

  • "Absolutely beautiful lodge very clean and modern everything you need but let down by little simple things that are easy fix, sofa is completely shot and not at all comfortable you basicallysit in a hole in the middle, hall way lights do not work, outside front lights don't work and is very dark but most frustrating is no TV channels as you can only access channels through internet, so basically watched BBC iplayer all weekend and not easy to navigate."

So sorry as these seem a little picky but it's not the first review to mention most of these. Simple fixes could make this 5☆

  • "We have stayed at Luca's lodge a few times now, and have always enjoyed our stay and the cleanliness & maintenance has never been an issue, this time was slightly more disappointing, the lighting in the hall was not working, not ideal for my elderly parents, the kitchen extractor fan has not been fixed, a previous customer had commented on this from September."

The bed settee is getting tired and is not at all comfortable to sit on. There were 2 small radiator leaks in both bathrooms on arrival and the fan in the separate bathroom did not work. Unfortunately there were also a considerable amount of long black hairs on both quilt covers in the bedrooms. Otherwise we have always enjoyed our stay here.

  • "Everything was to a high standard, the cleanliness was excellent and communication was excellent!"

However there were a couple of minor issues regarding maintance of appliances on arrival to the lodge, firstly the extractor fan power button was broken so was unable to use it, and secondly the toaster was on its last legs, in that you had to stand and hold the levers down as they were unable to lock into place. A bit of a inconvenience really (but not the end of the world). All in all a very enjoyable stay. I do understand if no one reports these issues the owner if unlikely to be aware. Hope these issues get sorted for future visits Karen hyde

..its a great place for a stepping stone into the lakes. Ambleside is literally 8 mins away and is a lovely place...Bowness is just busy and like Blackpool at times but that's the point its the main stay for one off lakes visitors...Good takeaway lake raj...can order on phone and then go pick up in ten minutes. Keswick only 35 mins away too. Across the lake Wray Castle good for a picnic then explore the lakes however you want. The lodge is comfy and has everything you would need. The site is woodland in style so full of wildlife...rabbits often running about. We enjoy feeding the ducks at the marina after tea. The clubhouse etc always seems busy and folk eating meals with young families every night...we had a giggle with a couple of guiness on bingo night. All in all a great spot for exploring the lakes.

Park is lovely and clean, lodge is in an easy location to get to everything you need and a nice distance from the lake to get a few steps in I’d chose to stay in this lodge again if I planned to go back to Windermere, owners have put a lot of thought into their guests stays with supplying books and games for rainy days and information of what’s around for exploring the Lake District. • "The site is lovely and great for families."

We have stayed at this lodge last year and loved it. The Wi-Fi has been greatly improved. The tv remote like others have said STILL doesn’t work, so don’t expect to use it. We learnt from last year and took our laptop with a hdmi lead. The main bathroom door which was reported broken in a review last year! Is STILL broken, so the main bathroom cannot be used if you value privacy. Yet the price is still the same as last year even though the lodge has not been fixed. We stayed with our dog as it is dog friendly and received an invoice for £30 as there were dog hairs! So it’s not really dog friendly. Considering they are quick to charge they aren’t quick to repair like the bathroom door. The lodge was really clean last year but when we arrived this year many mugs were dirty, the bathroom had hairs on the side and in the shower, there were hairs on the bedding. If you stay here take photos of the whole place as you’ll be amazed the number of things they will claim are your doing. They expected us to have stripped the bedding before we used it and have photos of the duvet to prove (in a bed they acknowledge wasn’t used!) that we didn’t create a mark to the duvet! I’m gutted this lodge has deteriorated as we intended to return yearly.

Thank you for your feedback. I am pleased you found the Wi-Fi had improved, as we were aware for so long that it was temperamental. I will also make sure that we replace the TV remote as soon as possible, thank you for informing us. We have also asked our maintenance person to address the bathroom door promptly and i apologise that this was not working for you. It seems to be repeatedly problematic so we will look at a more long term solution, which may be a replacement door. I will speak with our cleaner to raise your housekeeping concerns and replace any faulty items in the kitchen area. I am not sure why you are encouraging customers to take photographs as we are very relaxed and allow dogs in our lodge and many customers return each year with no issues at all. We politely request that all dogs are kept off the beds. Customer claims are something that we have rarely had to invoke. The request to strip your own bedding goes back to 2020-2021 when we were only open for short periods due to the lockdowns and the request to do this was an infection prevention measure and to protect our cleaning staff. Now that the lockdown measures are over, we can possibly revoke this request of our customers but no one has ever complained about this and respects that we have a responsibility to protect our cleaning staff. I do hope that you find my response reasonable and i am sorry that your experience was poor this year. We will endeavour to address the issues above and i do hope you will come and stay at Luca’s Lodge again, Angela (owner) Property Owner

Two fans were in the lodge which we used for part of the night. The lodge was very comfortable and had everything we needed. The Wi-Fi did disappear halfway through the week which was rather frustrating but expected after reading previous reviews. It was good being able to walk down to the lake which we did everything evening. The staff on the site were very nice but extremely busy. We only had one meal in the restaurant but had to queue for ages to order our meal and then waited a further hour for it to be delivered. The shop was pretty poor too. • "On arrival we thought the lodge was very good."

One of the reasons for booking this lodge was it was a smart tv so in the evenings we could settle down to a Netflix film or use the catchup facility but the first night which was Friday it just wouldn't connect to wifi, my phone and tablet did but not the tv. First thing the next morning we contacted the agents for the lodge, someone came around that morning but still no joy, they said they would contact the owner ,this was Saturday, by Thursday still no joy, that afternoon another man arrived, we were told yet again that they would contact the owner as he also said the remote control would not connect to the tv and it would most likely have to be replaced , so by the end of the week we had got nowhere. I think when you do not have direct contact with the owner it is not good. We also had some dog hairs on one of the chairs. The double bedroom door would not shut. The ensuite shower room door was jamming and very difficult to open. We found the single beds were not comfortable, the double bed was great. The heating was great as the weather was very cold. Had a nice week there, but on the long winter evenings it would have been nice to have more than a basic TV.

Thank you for your feedback and we have noted how poor and sketchy the wifi can be in pockets of the Lakes, so we have now installed a mini router into the lodge and have connected the smart tv, so everything is now working properly. Hope to see you again Property Owner

! We booked Luca's lodge for my birthday break away and my goodness, it was the best birthday i've had!! The Lodge was just beautiful and the campsite was friendly, clean and just breath-taking that it was right on the edge of Lake Windermere!! We had looked through the photo's and details online of the lodge and was so excited to go, with good expectations... When we arrived, our expectations were met and more!! It really was fantastic to open the door to such a clean, spacious, warm and inviting lodge (which we called our home for 5 days!). It was like home from home, especially with all the added extras and finishing touches such as lanterns in the hallway, books on the shelves and an abundance of things for our dog! It really was just lovely. To have the use of a washing machine and dishwasher also was just fabulous. I had packed all winter clothes as the lakes is usually a windy and cold spot but the whole week was such fab weather that I needed to rewash my 1 set of 'summery' clothes!! The bed was ever so comfy and everything really was just great. Thank you for such a wonderful break away. We will definitely be back in the future if we ever visit the Lakes again and will recommend Luca's Lodge to many friends and family! It made it all the more special for us that Luca and our dog Banjo almost look like twins!! Crazy Cockers are just the best! Thank you once again.

..even has two bathrooms. It has everything you need with a beautiful furnishings, plenty of utilities like a washing machine, dishwasher and huge fridge freezer. GreAt balcony with outdoor furniture...some pads or seat covers would be even better but that's understandable that they aren't there as they would be hard to clean between guests under covid worries. Beds are comfy and each bedroom has its own bathroom. The park itself is clean and in a great spot for accessing other places...we did days out at Grasmere, Bowness, Ambleside....all within ten minutes. Brockhole visitors centre is a ten minute walk where our twins enjoyed the treetops experience and another day we all hired paddle boards...GreAt fun. Further afield...only 30 mins was Grizedale Forest...did the red walk with fabulous views up Carron Crag. An hour away was Keswick with the wildlife park and Whinlatter...literally tons to do. I run trails and fells....spoilt for choice in the lakes but it was a family holiday so I stayed local. Turn left out of the park...up the road 100yards....cross over and you can run up the bridleway and take in views above Troutbeck and the paths to Ambleside...go further afield and you have so many hills, paths and many adventures. On the park itself you can relax from a day out by having a snooze on the grass by the marina late afternoon. Loads of folk brought their own boards and kayaks and you can access Windermere straight from the edge of the park itself at the marina. We're definitely going to stay here again.
