  • "Excellent property situated in a beautiful village, only a short drive to Paignton and Torquay."

  • "It was all it said it would be in the descriptions."

The beauty here was it fitted our needs superbly well. With three grandchildren, they didn't need entertaining by us, there was so much for them to do, they made their own entertainment, that was lovely to see. I haven't played chess in a while, but Freddie (5) wanted to play every day, so we did and I hope to continue on our return. The village is a delight, people so friendly. Pub next door, shop 5 minutes away and lovely walks around the village. Very close to all of the places we had on our list. Trying to find parking for 3 cars was a challenge but we managed. The lanes into the village were also a challenge at times, but by the end of the week we were quite proficient! Chris (owner) was always on hand and very helpful, which really made for a stress free holiday. Our only concern was the rather confusing recycling arrangements. We followed the instructions and put everything out. But by the time we left had filled the small bins up again. There were 12 of us, but I hope this didn't cause too many problems for the cleaners. Finally, if it is a measure of a holiday, our grandchildren didn't want to come home. Also neither did a couple of our children! All said the week went far too quickly. So great time by all, I can envisage us returning to the area in the future and would recommend Church Thatch to all. Many thanks to Chris for the high bar he has set.

  • "The thatched cottage was ideal for a large family especially with the top floor for a family with children."

The commincation with the owner was brilliant as this allowed us to request baby gates and early entry due to no prior occupants on our arrival date. The cottage had everything you needed both inside and out. The local area had a beautiful pub, cafe and minimarket and was close to drive to the surrounding area. We will definitely return and recommend to others both in summer or winter. Area to improve- the bushes need cutting back on the driveway especially if you have a large car.

  • "We had a fabulous stay at Church thatch and it was perfect for our group of 4 adults and 7 children ageing between 3-12."

We made use of the garden, the local pub and shop. We visited some beautiful places nearby and even the rain didn’t spoil our fun. The communication with the owner was good and any questions were answered promptly. All in all a wonderful holiday.
