  • "We enjoyed our stay in the accommodation which we found very comfortable ."

We did not use all the facilities which were provided as we in the main dined out . However we were impressed with all those facilities had we chosen to use them . The location was very central for the shops, restaurants and transport links to other places in the lakes The gated property entrance was easy with parking in the alloted space . We would visit again the next time we are in the lakes.

Thank you for your feedback. We are so glad that you enjoyed the property and all that the area has to offer. We look forward to welcoming you back in the future. Lakelovers Owner Relations Team Property Owner

  • "Very clean and well equipped."

In a lovely location, quiet but only a 5 minute walk to shops and restaurants. Also close to bus and train station so ideal if you don’t drive. Lovely little park opposite. Very minor issue was that water for bath could have been hotter, wasn’t really a problem but could be if a group was staying. New electric shower which was perfect. Would definitely stay there again!

  • "The property was lovely and clean with everything you would need the only problem was the shower!"

there was barely a trickle when we switched on, we reported the fault , and maintenence came the same day, but although there was a little better flow, it was not really adequate , we would not stay there again because of this problem.

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on your recent stay with us. We appreciate your feedback and take it very seriously. We are so glad to hear that you found the property to be lovely and clean, with everything you would need. We apologise for the inconvenience caused by the shower pressure issue, and we have now replaced the shower unit and resolved the problem. Thank you for your feedback. • "The electric shower was very poor performance."

Not enough toilet rolls, we had to buy our own. Light bulb missing on wall in living room plus one not working. Mattress not very comfortable, bedframe on base made it awkward to get out off. Plus caught legs a few times on bed frame.

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on your recent stay with us. We appreciate your feedback and take it very seriously. We are sorry to hear that you experienced some problems with the electric shower, we have engaged tradesmen to investigate and resolve the water pressure issue. We are sorry to hear that you were not satisfied with the number of toilet rolls provided in your self-catering accommodation. We typically provide a starter pack of toilet rolls, but as we are self-catering, guests are expected to purchase additional supplies as needed. We are sorry to hear that you found the mattress uncomfortable. You are the first guest to raise a concern about the bed, but we will monitor the situation and take steps to address it if necessary. We want to assure you that we are committed to providing our guests with a positive and comfortable experience. Property Owner

  • "Our stay was perfect, the property was immaculate and in a great location."

There is also on site gated parking so you can relax over the safety of your car. There were little touches throughout the property that showed the hosts efforts to go the extra mile, there was an in depth guide to help with everything you would need to know about the property and also the local area. The property is homely but modern and was everything we wished for for our girls weekend!

  • "We had a lovely few days at Newlands."

The location is ideal, the allocated parking space was much appreciated and the flat's decor is contemporary. We would happily repeat our stay. However, there were a couple of niggles with the property. The electric radiators have a blue light that fills the flat in the middle of the night. Other than completely turning them off, which would go against the signs on each radiator, we couldn't work out how to get rid of the light. Secondly, there were some supplies we wish we'd known weren't provided - there were no coffee pods for the machine, no washing machine detergent or tablets and only half a loo roll.

  • "Had an amazing time at the apartment."

It had everything we needed there and was clean and tidy. The only problem we had when we arrived was there was a few keys in the box and we didn't know which was ours. However, when I rang the help line it was solved immediately.

Only thing to be aware of is the private parking space is very small. If you drive a large car I’d recommend parking in the street.

The only reason I rated the comfort category less than the other categories is that the double bed is awful ,because of the frame on the bed you can’t sit on the edge of the bed to get ready and I banged my elbow twice during the night on the edge The apartment would certainly benefit from a double divan with a more comfortable mattress

The apartment was lovely, location was fab! Had lovely touches and also things that are not normally thought of, ie pizza cutter and cafetiere. And we thought the smart heating worked really well as the temp was regulated while we were there and never too hot or too cold. Will definitely be staying again!

The key fob to the gates didn't work on arrival and someone had parked in our space, but those issues were resolved later on. The TV had all the apps we needed - Netflix, BBC iPlayer, etc so the kids were happy! Excellent location, a very short walk to all the pubs and shops, half hour walk down the hill to Bowness and the lake. The park opposite was ideal for us all to play games and get some exercise every morning. The beds were very comfortable so we all slept great. Thoroughly enjoyable holiday!

  • "The appartment itself was gorgeous, it was really modern & clean, and in a perfect central position."

Only suggestion is maybe have summer duvets as although lucky enough to have a heat wave, a 10.5 tog is too heavy for the summer. Otherwise a fab holiday! Office wise - An Important info update is definitely needed - As a previous reviewer also pointed out - it also took us an hour after a long train journey to find where to collect the keys. We were looking for the Sykes holiday office - all of my booking paperwork is Sykes headings only - which by complete luck and desperation we finally tried the key box next to Lakes Cottage Holidays office as it was located in Victoria Street. Plus need more info about gaining access to appartment as a secure gated building. Also need to check/update any spare towels. I borrowed some towels from the office as the flat suffered a leak and had used some towels to mop up, but towels I was given were stained, so didn't use them.

  • "Apartment was lovely and clean and I highly recommend it."

My biggest issues was the car park gate. Very flaky and took me 10 min each time to get the key to work and open. I did report this but not sure they did anything. Address for key collection is ambiguous and incorrect. I wasted an hour looking for it and the address was wrong. You need to name the office building. Maps will get you to the address given but it’s actually opposite the road ‘lakes cottage’ office. I made contact regarding other electrical items such as hairdryer that were not listed. Skye cottages told me due to COVID some items removed(makes no sense because you might as well remove kettle and coffee machine). I expected Skye cottages to contact owner and ask but they just said no take it with you. I took the extra items but it was all available in the apartment (hair dryer and iron) so waste of luggage. Despite the hiccups the apartment is very clean, well equipped and decorated. Great location too.

  • "We had a lovely time at Newlands."

The apartment is very well appointed and very comfortable indeed. The large towel rail in the bathroom was essential for our stay to dry the clothes that got soaked in the rain everyday! The two items I would suggest would make it more luxurious would be to increase the size of the master bed from a double to a king. The second would be to swap the shower unit for one with a pump to improve the water pressure. These would be fine additions to a very comfortable environment.

  • "A really lovely little flat, with a pretty outlook at the front out through some trees."

So conveniently located for the town (loved the rear shortcut!) but with off street parking which was a real boon. Nicely decorated and furnished. Sounds like a silly thing, but we really appreciated being trusted with proper crockery. Our little one just loved the Peter Rabbit Wedgewood set. Care had been taken for Covid measures and everything was well organised in our accommodation. Less so in the general area though; very few masks being worn in town, little regard for social distancing and contract tracing in most pubs etc was virtually non-existent it was so ineffective. Clearly not an issue with Skyes or our accommodation, but worth mentioning I think. I'm in the extremely vulnerable group so maybe more concerned about it than others may be. The staff in the Sykes office were helpful and really friendly.

Fully equipt kitchen with a pint of milk in fridge for when we arrived. Comfortable beds, sofa, and 5v with netflix available if you have an account. No noise from other neighbours. Will definitely be coming back next year.
