It is decorated and furnished to the same high standard. Although it is bigger than the cottage, it is still cosy and extremely comfortable. Once again we had a thoroughly enjoyable, relaxing stay. Thank you Peter and Vicky for providing this lovely holiday home.

We loved the cottage which is perfectly located within easy walking distance into the centre of Ballater. The cottage was very clean and comfortable and beautifully renovated. We very much enjoyed the Dawn Macciocia lamp shades and coasters and mats and thought the other art work set the house off beautifully. The wood burner was very much appreciated too. We plan to be back, thank you for sharing your beautiful house with us!

The only thing that would make it ideal for us would be an outside tap (for washing the mountain bikes) but that wouldn't deter us from booking this accommodation again, which we certainly intend to do. Thank you to the owners for their care and attention to detail, would definitely recommend.

Dear Jacqueline, thank you very much for your lovely review, we are delighted you enjoyed your stay in Gairnlea House. We do have a coupe of water barrels with taps and a watering can which you could use to clean your bikes, not sure if you noticed them. Best wishes Peter & Vicky Property Owner

Perfectly located within Ballater to walk into the town & enjoy all the amenities on offer and walks within the area. The house itself is absolutely lovely. The fixtures & fittings within the property itself are first class. The sofas are plentiful & comfortable. The dining room is a lovely place to eat meals & the table mats & coasters just lovely. The kitchen has all that you need to prepare food although it’s easier with just 1 person in the kitchen at a time as it does have a pinch point, although in saying that we managed perfectly well all week. The bathrooms are great, having the added bonus of a shower room downstairs & a bathroom upstairs. The water pressure is great so the showers were just fabulous and you then get dried on fluffy white towels! The beds were large & comfortable adored with crisp white sheets to ensure a good nights sleep. There is plenty of storage for clothes & everything you need for a comfortable stay. The garden is shared with Gairnlea cottage but we didn’t find this a problem. We had wall to wall sunshine all week and it was nice to sit out in the beautiful garden every day & chat with our neighbours who we enjoyed meeting. All in all I would 100% recommend & would definitely visit again if visiting that area.
