  • "Loved our stay at Clover Cottage."

Quirky layout but worked great for a family of 6 and a family of 3. Already getting dates together for a stay next year. Everything you needed was available at the cottage and in a great location to get to the dales and the lakes for day trips. Great pub down the road. Would 100% recommend Clove Cottage

Everywhere was spotless. Facilities were great. Everyone commented on how great the showers were!! Nice quite location. Would not hesitate in staying here again.

We’d love to welcome you back again Daniel, Outhgill is a beautifully quiet spot. The showers were upgraded in the last year, I’m glad you appreciated them. We’ll be sure to pass your compliments on to our hardworking cleaner. Property Owner

  • "We had a fantastic stay at Clover Cottage, it is very well equipped, spacious, comfortable and warm."

We couldn’t get mobile phone signal (perfect) but the included internet was fast and stable if you want to remain connected. A real home from home experience with some lovely walks right from the front door, the cuckoos and woodpeckers in the garden were a real treat. We would happily book again, thank you.

Thank you Zachary for your feedback! We're glad you enjoyed your stay, please do book again! Property Owner

  • "Absolutely beautifully appointed cottage."

There were 5 adults and 3 children on our stay and plenty of room for us all. Kitchen and bathrooms were all new. There is a small garden with table and chairs for the warmer months. Everything in the property was to a high standard and very comfortable.and was lovely and warm. There are some lovely walks around and only a short drive to Kirkby Stephen itself. All in all a fantastic weekend in a beautiful part of the world.

Thank you Anglea for the wonderful feedback! We're glad you appreciated the new kitchen and bathrooms. You're right, Mallerstang is a beautiful spot, we hope to welcome you back again in the future. Property Owner

Two families of 4. We all had a fantastic time, the cottage was beautiful with everything we needed. Even cooked a large Sunday roast with ease. Location was beautiful, walked to Pendragon Castle which was great. Would definitely recommend and will definitely return.

Thank you very much for taking the time to feedback Clare. We're very pleased you appreciated the brand new kitchen and bathrooms - it sounds like the kitchen served you well over New Year! We hope to welcome you back soon to Clover Cottage. Property Owner

  • "The cottage is lovely, it's spacious and has everything you need to feel at home."

There fact it is split over 3 floors made it better for a group of 8 with 4 kids as the kids had plenty of space. The location was excellent nice walks and beautiful scenery. We visited the Forbidden corner and Ehite Scar caves which the kids loved. Kendal and lake windermere were also lovely places for a day out. A beautiful cottage in beautiful surroundings!

Thank you for your feedback Deborah! We agree, the space in the cottage is great for a big group. It sounds like you had a great time exploring the local area, we'd love to welcome you back in the future! Property Owner

  • "A lovely property in a lovely location."

Good points 1 excellent sized lounge with comfy sofas 2 good comfortable beds 3 lovely access to the garden 4 lovely village with nice walks from the village itself 5 the large lounge did make it feel like a good family environment Bad points 1 kitchen was tired 2 washing machine and dishwasher weren’t clear on how to use and seemed to take ages 3 upstairs bathroom didn’t have a shower 4 fridge was very small for 8 people 5 don’t expect to get things posted back to you, left a big item (Oodie) in the bedroom, told them exactly where it would be and they said they couldn’t find it, either they didn’t clean thoroughly after us so missed it or they threw it away despite us trying to contact Sykes the same weekend, they say you have 30 days. Wouldn’t have minded paying the charge as it was worth far more than the £15.

Thank you for your feedback Louise, I'm glad you thought the property was lovely and we agree, the location is great! The lounge is perfect for big groups. Thank you for the feedback regarding the improvements you felt could be made, we are continuing to improve the property and value your input. I'm so sorry your lost property could not be located. • "First class accommodation in a beautiful setting."

Even the weather was kind to us - it only rained once and that was at night. We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would recommend it without hesitation. We had two young dogs with us who made full use of the small private rear garden. We are not walkers but found plenty of places within driving distance to visit. Good pubs with good fresh, home cooked food

Thank you Honor for taking the time to give us some lovely feedback! We're pleased you appreciate the recent improvements we have made to the cottage. The garden is very dog friendly and you're right, the local pubs are great. We hope to welcome you back to the cottage in the future. Property Owner

  • "Lovely cottage in a stunning location but the beds were so uncomfortable, could feel the springs in the mattresses and we all ended up having bad backs and couldn't sleep!"

No WiFi, wasn't that clean either, crisps under the sofa, dirty skirting boards!

Thank you Jackie, we agree the location is stunning! We replaced all the mattresses in the property in December guaranteeing a good night's sleep for all guests in the New Year. The property has recently been redecorated throughout and has had a deep clean after a very busy season. Hopefully we can welcome you back again in the future. Property Owner

Only one was fitted which was useless as it was unsafe and none on the second flight of stairs . This isn’t a child friendly place to stay and wouldn’t recommend to families with small children. There isn’t a phone signal and the WiFi is rubbish.

I'm sorry that you had problems with the WIFI and phone signal. This is due to the remote location of the property. The community is currently installing superfast broadband so soon the WiFi issue will be resolved. Property Owner

  • "The cottage was very dirty especially the first floor which was carpeted and stained with a lot of cob webs."

Most of the mattresses were in their worst condition, they had mattress covers on top but still the springs were still hurting. The day we arrived to the night before we left there was no internet inspire of numerous calls to the number provided and spoken with, on top of this there was no mobile connection either. There was no TV for 3 days out of our 5 days stay. The utensils were highly smelly we had to wash everything all over again as soon as we arrived after a long drive. The location of the cottage is beautiful but everything else was disappointing. I wasn't expecting any luxury, I was only expecting a clean cottage with basic amenities. Thanks.

Thank you for your feedback. We have recently purchased new mattresses for the whole property. Due to the remote nature of the property I'm afraid phone signal can be limited, we have recently added this to the listing to help future guests. The community is in the process of installing superfast broadband which should minimise any further problems with the Wifi. Property Owner

  • "The cottage was lovely and very well equipped, and the setting was stunning, however we were very disappointed with the cleanliness of the cottage."

There were cobwebs in every room, especially bad in the kitchen and around the skylights. The blinds in the living room to the double doors were moldy on the back and the beams which can be seen when coming out of the top bedroom were thick with dust. It didn't ruin our holiday but thought it needed to be addressed to avoid potential complaints from other guests. Also as the check in time was moved to 5pm, to enable a deep clean we feel that this hadn't be done.

Thank you for your review, we are pleased you enjoyed the location of the cottage and felt it was well equipped. We have highlighted the issues you raised with our cleaning company. We hope to welcome you back to Clover Cottage again in the future. Property Owner
