the house is absolutely stunning inside and out. John was very helpful and it was really nice to meet him and the owners ! Would love to travel up for Christmas or new year but I imagine there will be a long waiting list . highly recommend this and it’s a memory myself and the family will cherish forever.

Thank you so much for your lovely review. It was great for us to see guests enjoying Bearnock in the sunshine. Something we don’t often get to do. I hope you do get to return some day! Property Owner

  • "Brilliant holiday home, ideal for multiple families and great set up for both kids and adults."

There are 10 adults and 7 children in our group and we have been holidaying together in Scotland for 5 years and this was the best house we have stayed in. John was great and very attentive if needed. The heating and water systems are great which lend to a ideal drying room for clothes. The gardens are gorgeous and the kids play area a real plus. The bedrooms mostly had ensuites which was great and those that did not had bathrooms very close. The kitchens were well kitted out with everything we needed and the dining room was lovely. The log cabin was lovely and was a great addition to the holiday. The house has a lot of history which made for some really interesting reading. The fixtures and fittings were all high quality, comfy sofas and beds and well decorated. Things for improvement were that the house was clean but could have been cleaner, it was obvious there had been dogs in the house previous to us and with a few people with allergies - that wasn't ideal. Also the feather bedding was an issue for us as again there were a few people with allergies but we understand many guests will think feather duvets are a plus point. There was dirty underwear under one of the beds in the MacGillvray room (not ours as only two 7 year old boys staying in that room) and lots of wrappers/papers behind the bed in the MacDonald room. The internet wasn't great and we often could not get connected - could use some wifi extenders or a boost to allow more people to join the network at once (we all live rurally so are used to these issues). We also felt the list of duties for tenants to do at the end of the holiday was quite extensive - the most we have been asked to do in the 5 years of renting big houses for holiday. On the whole - an amazing place to stay to explore the local area. Thanks! * Happy for the top part of the review to be published with the second part omitted as it was more to let the owners know of some improvements which could be made.

Thank you Karri for your comments and I am very glad you had such a lovely holiday. I am sorry that there were some cleaning issues and I will pass these comments on to the cleaners as I have to say this is very unusual. I havent had comments regarding feathers before but I take a look at the bedding when I am at the house next week. The Wifi is tricky in the Highlands and we are looking to upgrade shortly. • "A very comfortable and spacious property ,excellent as a base for exploring the highlands or just relaxing and enjoying the company of friends and family."

All the cooking equipment you could possibly need two kitchens and a bar make this an extremely sociable space, and the take aways in Drumnadrochit means you don't have to cook if you prefer not to. John the property manager is extremely friendly and helpful and lives very nearby if any assistance is required.

Many thanks for your lovely review. Glad you had a good time Property Owner

Spacious, spotlessly clean, great help from the property manager and excellent location for hillwalking. Our party included an architect, one with very high standards, who couldn't stop saying how bowled over he was by the quality of the refurbishment. A truly memorable week. Thanks.

  • "We booked Bearnock Lodge in conjunction with the waterfall appartment for a week-long lifestyle medicine retreat."

The two together were the perfect location, combining tranquility with accessibility, with lovely grounds an exceptional standard of decor and maintenance. The choice of reception rooms on the ground floor worked really well for small-group working and the separate log cabin was useful to host speakers on the retreat. The facilities manager lives just next door and was very helpful with any queries. We have already book this venue again for later in the year for a similar event and can't wait to return.

  • "The pictures do not do justice for the size of Bearnock lodge."

The rooms are all a very good size and this place is just stunning. This place does literally give you everything you need and more. We were fond of this place before and now it's a special place for us after being married here my only gripe was we did not have more time because it flew by. If you want quality family time away or even a small wedding this place is genuinely perfect. The property manager John could not be more accommodating and could not thank him enough for all he done. We genuinely can't rate Bearnock any more highly and hope others can experience what we did and we hope to go back one day as it is local to us and the perfect place.

Thank you so much for your wonderful feedback which is much appreciated. Property Owner

  • "We had a lovely time despite a bug within our family groups."

The children, aged from below 1 to 9 years of age, enjoyed it particularly. The large dining room and table were a hit too. The ‘cabin’ was very useful too. The table tennis in a garage was used a lot. John, the local manager, was especially helpful.

We are so pleased you had a great time. John is such an asset to Bearnock Losge - we are very lucky. Property Owner

  • "A fabulous house for a large group!"

Absolutely everything you need is there and every room is just lovely, and in a wonderful setting! John was extremely accommodating and is available 24/7. Our only (very small) con would be that we had to pay for logs for the fire. We only were given enough for 1 night - we were there for 3….and it was November in north west Scotland! However, it wouldn’t stop us going back again and next time we’d know to take our own logs!

  • "We had a very enjoyable week at Bearnock Lodge."

The lodge/cabin/ cottage are all comfortable and very well equipped and the property in a secluded setting making it an ideal place for a family gathering. The property manager (John) was very helpful throughout our stay. If there was one small area for improvement it was the need for slightly more car park space, but this is just me being picky. We hope to return to Bearnock in the not-too-distant future.

So many places to chill out or have fun. Great kitchen (we called it the hub) and dining room for our meals. Rooms were excellent with good quality linen on the beds. The master bedroom was just exceptional and none of our group had anything else but positive feedback on their accommodation or the facilities. John who met us was great and explained everything that we needed to know and was equally accessible both before and during our stay. If I had one area for improvement it was that there was only one ice tray for the whole property. (Unless I missed where they were kept?) Would I recommend this property… absolutely exceptional place to have a large family event.

We had great weather but even if it had rained it wouldn't have mattered as there is an excellent drying room. The hot water system is fantastic! A week that the family will always remember. The photos don't do the place justice, it's so beautiful. We had such a nice stay at Bearnock Lodge, and John the keeper was so friendly and helpful. We're hoping to return at some point and will definitely be recommending the lodge to our other family and friends, it's stunning. What an incredible job the owners have made renovating it, there are so much of the old features, and modern touches throughout which works so well. The facilities are great, and for anyone wondering, the kitchens have all the extras you would find in your own home and more. Everything from booking, to arriving and getting into the property was hassle free. Thanks for making it such a special weekend! We will definitely be returning!
