Very peaceful and an ideal location for exploring the Lake District. The lodge was very well equipped, though information on how things worked would have been useful. We would recommend it, and if we are visiting this area again would more than likely stay here.

Thank you for your kind comments, we are so pleased to see that you enjoyed your stay, and the views! We hope to welcome you again. The Lake District Lodge Holidays Owner Relations Team. Property Owner

  • "We loved our stay at Winterfell and would definitely consider coming back."

The property had enough privacy, with a lovely view from the veranda. It was clean and tidy, and a very cosy place to relax after the long walks that we took. It was close enough to town to pick up what we needed, but far enough out for some peace and quiet. The staff on the resort were also very friendly and helpful. It's a gold holiday star from us!

Many thanks for taking the time to submit your valued and positive feedback. We are delighted to hear that you had such an enjoyable stay in Winterfell and look forward to welcoming you back, should you decide to visit again in the future. A gold holiday star is very much appreciated, thank you! Property Owner

  • "The property was as described and was very modern and in a secluded and peaceful setting."

Very spacious interior and the use of two bathrooms was very useful. Good quality furnishings both inside and out and the beds were comfortable. The only issue was the unreliable inernet that had intermittent access, which became frustrating. Overall, a very enjoyable stay and would recommend.

Amazing views. The site is also lovely with a big field to play on and also an adventure playground. I wish we stayed longer so we could explore more! As it rained a lot we got to really enjoy the lodge. My one year old loved how much space there was. Would definitely stay again!

  • "We have just spent a lovely four nights at "Winterfell"."

The lodge was very clean and tidy and extremely well equipped. There was just the two of us on this occasion but if we had brought the grandchildren there was an abundance of games and DVD's for their amusement. The views from the living area are magnificent and we saw and heard lots of local wildlife such as deer, squirrels, owls, birds and the odd sheep here and there!! The furniture, beds etc. were in excellent condition and the kitchen had everything needed to cater for our needs. We did have a slight problem with the gas hob which was fixed very quickly after reporting it to maintenance. The lodge is in a lovely position and it was very quiet and peaceful giving us some much needed escape from the humdrum of every day life. There are several walks available from Troutbeck without the need to use the car. Wansfell Pike was our favourite. The views from the top were absolutely magnificent!! Many thanks to the owners for providing such a lovely "home from home". We would definitely return to Winterfell in the future.

Thank you for your feedback, we are delighted to hear of how much you enjoyed your time in Winterfell Lodge. Thank you for bringing the issue with the hob to our attention and it is wonderful we were able to resolve it for you a timely manner. Winterfell is a fantastic lodge to stay in, it has everything you could possibly need whether you are a couple or a family! We agree with you, it is a real home away from home and we look forward to welcoming you back. Property Owner

  • "Although the lodge was really modern, we felt the kitchen area could have been much cleaner then it was."

There were splash marks up the cupboard doors and finger marks around the fridge door. Crumbs had collected on the cupboard handles so clearly not been wiped down in between guests. We felt this was really bad especially during these times of Covid. We felt we had to wipe everything down ourselves.

Thank you for your feedback and we are sorry to hear the cleanliness of Winterfell did not live up to the expectations on your arrival. This is most unusual for Winterfell Lodge and we have passed your comments to our Cleaning Services Manager to ensure this does not happen again. If you had let us know on your arrival, we would have returned to place this right for you. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused. That said, we do hope this did not impact on your stay too much and you will return to see we have taken your comments onboard. Property Owner

  • "We had a lovely stay at Winterfell."

This was rearranged from Spring due to Covid. The lodge was more than equipped - the cupboard of games was especially useful to keep our two sons occupied during the rainy times. It was spacious and clean and met all our needs - if not more than expected. During our stay the boiler broke but it was quickly fixed thanks to the promptness of the staff at Limefitt. Our two children loved the playground even in the rain and enjoyed seeing the sheep that cake Dyson every day. We would definitely stay at Winterfell again. What did you enjoy most about your stay? • "Had a lovely weekend break and felt it was a real home from home."

Very clean and tidy and in a fantastic location. Had everything we needed for a few days away. Only very minor points are that the spa bath was not working and there was no DVD player as advertised, however having WiFi and watching Netflix was a suitable substitute. What did you enjoy most about your stay? Location What one experience (e.g attraction, walk, day out) would you recommend for our future guests?
