  • "The property wss in a nice position on the site,it was clean and spacious."

Contrary to reviews I had read we had no problem with the hot water /heating (new boiler been fitted). The bed was comfy slept well all week. There was a problem with the dishwasher we put it on on day 2 and all the power went out however the Parkdean staff were excellant and got the power back on (dont think its ideal plugging a dishwasher into sockets under the sink ).Apart from that we had a lovely stay and I would recommend it to family and friends the site has everything you need and its not far from Ambleside or Windermere. One more thing a non slip showermat was needed (I did buy one)

  • "Although the place was modern & nice we had no hot water in the shower, this was for all 3 days of being there, j understand these things happen but we had a 3 year old having to have a cold shower."

The property could do with some tlc - e.g broken runners, doors swinging back open once closed too.

  • "The shower leaked from the bottom of the shower, the hearing was not working and would only turn on if the boiler was reset and would only turn on for around 15-20 minutes and the main bedroom would steam up quite severely when the heating was on."

Also there was what looked like the beginning of black mould over where the wash basket was kept.

Had to chase and chase Sykes for any feedback. They had no interest in making it right as I had to prompt all communication. Still waiting on this to be made right.

  • "Property was a little damp."

Shower was very dirty. Beds very uncomfortable. Very disappointed to have a smart TV but could not watch due to having no WiFi. On site club was OK but the entertainment was hardly ever as advertised. Numerous rats seen around the property.

  • "Lovely property."

The lodge had everything we needed for a family of 4. It was very clean and comfortable and beautifully decorated. The.decking seems to be one of the sunniest and most private spots in Skiptory, not overlooked at all. We would be happy to return.

  • "A well-presented cabin with good size bedrooms which was well-equiped for our 3-night stay."

Disappointingly, upon arrival, the boiler was leaking and there was no hot water or heating. This was resolved within a few hours (the issue was in hand but the maintenance team assumed we'd be arriving the following day). Positives: powerful shower, well-equiped kitchen, large open-plan living area, lots of natural light, not overlooked by other cabins. The setting of the park is beautiful and the pool facilities on site are great. Just a short drive from beautiful, bustling Bowness. Negatives: very uncomfortable double bed and the outdoor furniture was poorly maintained so we had to use the dining chairs on the decking. Overall, the accommodation met our needs for a short stay and felt more spacious than other accommodation of a similar style.

  • "Beautiful property and surrounding."

Great base for walking the fells and food & drinks in bowness. Just an issue with the boiler pouring water out all over the floor with no heating and luke warm showers at best for the whole stay. Issue was never fixed so abit disappointed on that part as lodge was freezing in the evening. Other than that we enjoyed the property.

  • "The property was not ready when we arrived, it was booked for a special occasion so this was very disappointing."

The lodge is lovely on first glance but the sofa and beds are very uncomfortable and the lodge isn’t very cosy. It’s not somewhere I would recommend booking or stay again.

  • "Booked the lodge with the view the site had entertainment and bingo."

Evening Entertainment was very poor at best and no bingo could be found all week. The lodge and site are lovely location to the lake was also great. Just feel Park Dean need to invest in updating club house and facilities and entertainment to bring it into line with location and the fact it is a holiday park. Also no wifi which may put a lot of people off it is not intermittent there was none at all.

  • "On first glance the property inside is beautiful, clean, with a nice spacious open living space, comfortable beds with plenty of storage."

The kitchen is well equipped and the surroundings are beautiful and very quiet. A lovely little cabin. However, there were a few little things that we noticed, first of all the cover on the fuse board is broken, it was wide open and the fuses were easily accessible, which is a major health and safety concern especially as it is located in the wardrobe of the second bedroom where my children were sleeping . This was reported to the main reception and we were told someone would come out and sort it but no one did. Secondly the decking and outside furniture could do with a bit of tlc as they looked dirty, have been weathered and one of the outdoor chairs was missing slats, meaning it couldn’t be used. The cleaners were also still there when it was check in time, as the hoover was broken so they had to sweep by hand (which they did do a good job of) meaning our check in was delayed. Also the advert states there is Wi-Fi, but there is not. Aside from the above we did enjoy our stay, and it is set in a lovely location with lots to do locally.

  • "The property is absolutely lovely, looks just like the pictures."

It was very clean and had everything we needed. My only complaint would be all the beds are very hard, none of us had any decent sleep any of the nights we were there. I think others must have complained to as there were several mattress protectors on the beds to try to make them softer, they didn't help, I went home tired and with a bad back. If they changed the mattresses we would stay again. Location wise it is perfect for days out to Windermere, Bowness etc. The onsite facilities were not great, pub was very overpriced, food was terrible, pool is small. We ate off site or at the property after the first night I would advise you to avoid the pub food.

  • "Amazing holiday home, my only thoughts or suggestions would be to change the mirror unit in the bathroom I found I hit my head on It due to the depth sticking out over the sink a flat mirror would be better."

We arrived in the dark and it took a bit if finding illumination of the unit number could help this, WiFi would be nice to access Netflix and so on but picking really there. The lodge overall was amazing had everything you could/would need, clean, quite elevated position not looked over very peaceful, owls hooting at night and deer by day. We would not hesitate in recommending this lodge and hope to return. Thank you.

Thank you so much for your feedback. We will look at getting some better lighting for the unit number. Wi-Fi is site wide issue at White Cross Bay but I believe that direct Wi-Fi will be available soon. Really hope to welcome you to our lodge again soon. Rachel Property Owner
