It's off to do the Whangie after a few friends had recommended it so we drove north of Glasgow past Milngavie and on to the car park, thanks to using a walk report from Walkhighlands for the first time!
Park up and it should just be a quick hike there and back.
Looking back towards the car park, roughly north east:

A 180 degree panoramic from north to south facing east shows the highlands on the left, Stirlingshire and the Campsies in the middle with the side of Auchineden Hill to the right:

A panoramic from west to east looking north towards Loch Lomond and the Trossachs. This side of Auchineden Hill is quite sparse as the path snakes its way up and round the hill:

Loch Lomond from a bit higher up:

The path then forked so we went the other way from the few groups of people we could see ahead of us and popped up over the crest of the hill to see the trig point of Auchineden in the distance:

Yvonne up ahead and facing the daunting task of the final wee hill to the summit! I love this pic, there is something that gives it the feel of a painting, or a still from Lord of the Rings...

We made it and have a well earned seat on the grass to enjoy the view of Glasgow's northern suburbs.

From the trig point looking south and i'm sure that bit of rock was higher than the ground the trig point was on... so stood on it just to be sure!

Looking back to the east and the trig point and we head north east along another path to find the Whangie... well Y does, i'm heading west!

The view north with Loch Lomond and the hills beyond. Y is blazing her own trail!

Zoom shot looking like a watercolour painting, with Y about to disappear over the edge of Auhineden Hill!

I get a nice view of Burncrooks Reservoir on my route with Duncolm in the background:

We then meet at the Whangie entrance.
This is me enjoying the path through the Whangie and we passed a couple of rock climbers having an easy practice session:

Time for one last panoramic shot, catching both Loch Lomond and the Campsies:

So that was us, a quick and painless walk with some nice views and interesting features to take in on the way.
