As Summer finally arrived in The Lakes we headed off to climb Glenridding Dodd and Sheffield Pike. The moaning from my daughter started almost immediately as she wasn't enjoying the combination of the steep ascent and warm weather. Upon sighting what appeared to be a bit of a scramble up Sheffield Pike this part of the walk was quickly abandoned. The views from Glenridding Dodd however were truly spectacular.
We descended down Mossdale Beck and found a nice spot for lunch. However the descent through the woods quickly turned 'fiddly' being rather steep with lots of rocky and woody bits, although it did afford some more great views of Ullswater through the trees. Once back at the road we were able to follow the Ullswater Way back to Glenridding.
