With the weather forecast not looking great (strong winds and snow flurries) I decided to keep it simple and nipped off to bag Binsey.
After a fairly steep pull straight from the car park I was quickly at the top where I was pleased to find a wind shelter. I had the top all to myself and enjoyed a hot brew out of the wind as a few flakes of snow started to fall. Nice views of the Ullock Pike ridge up to Skiddaw (more snow than the day before) and some of the lesser known fells at the back of Skiddaw.
Extending the route I continued to head north-westerly from the top, felt like I had the entire fell to myself and I was able to enjoy complete solitude for the remainder of the walk. Reaching the wall I turned for home doing my best to follow the seldom used and indistinct paths and enjoying the views of Bassenthwaite Lake and the surrounding fells.
