I did this walk solo in light rain and heavy mist this morning Friday 7th March. Directions were perfect, I was never in any doubt despite the low visibility. I downloaded the photos too which were great for confirmation. It was useful to have my compass to confirm the direction from Selside Pike as there were a number of paths and it would otherwise have been unnerving to stride out into the mist. It was probably as boggy today as it gets after such a wet winter ( and the wet generally in 2024). Only really very wet as you leave the stoney road at the head of the pass to walk along the fence, requiring some detours and some hopping stone to stone holding onto the fence. It never went over the top of my boots so my feet stayed dry. The views as I came down towards the lake, out of the mist on the corpse road were breathtaking. The lakeside 'path' is very beautiful and I'm pleased I took it instead of opting for the road back to the car park but it is very rough, up and down and along some steep slopes where keeping your footing is tricky. I spotted a gate back to the road and my tired feet and legs were grateful for a level surface for the final 10 mins. It took me 3.5 hours, no stops except to take plenty of pictures.
