After a busy working week, including a trip to London in Storm Claudia, I took advantage of a rare glimpse of the sun and headed off to Grasmere to climb Stone Arthur.

I got an early(ish) start meaning I got the best of the morning light on the fells.

Enjoyed the views of Helm Crag, Steel Fell and Seat Sandal, will come back to these on another day.

Crossed the ghyll...

Enjoyed the view of Alcock Tarn and Grasmere

Short scramble up to Stone Arthur

To enjoy the view from the top (not immediately obvious)

Amazing views of the Coniston Fells and Langdale Pikes (I think!)

I was tempted to carry on up to my favourite fell, Great Rigg, but needed to get back to see my lad who was home from university

The views were just as good on the way down.

A cracking morning, 9.5 out of 10. Half point deducted for forgetting my brew.
