Took the opportunity on the Bank Holiday Monday to do the Aira Force and Gowbarrow trail, as I'd never done it before.

As it was a bank holiday, the car parks and roads were absolutely heaving, but there were a few free spots in the High Cascades car park, which is actually nearer to the start of the trail up Gowbarrow anyway - most people seem to gravitate to the car park at the bottom to use the loos and cafe

The path was clear and as well maintained as you'd expect from such a tourist trap. I did try to find the path to Green Hill as described in the walk but there was no obvious sign of a path at the top of Gowbarrow and I didn't see anything joining the trail t the bottom either. Perhaps that's one for another day...

Weather in the morning was a bit grey and blowy, but luckily it cleared up to some lovely sunshine just as I was driving across and it held that way for the rest of the day.
