A nice short walk up Barrow from the village of Braithwaite. The start is quite steep but soon levels off a bit with a gradual drag up to the summit where you get great views of those on Catbells (4 metres below you!) and across the valley to Grizedale Pike. There are also lovely views of Derwent Water and Bassenthwaite Lake to be had. After an initial steep climb down the other side the return trip follows the gill before returning to Braithwaite through lush farmland. A nice easy Wainwright suitable for all the family!
