This was our first visit to the Lakes. It was due to this website and the walks that took us to see a taster of what it has to offer. We weren’t able to do all we wanted due to the weather and one of our Basset hounds getting a sore paw but what we did and saw was fantastic. We did the Coniston to Tarn Hows walk. This was a showery day but a lovely walk to get us started. The next day was brighter so we went around Dewent water. Again a thoroughly enjoyable walk. The following day we went up the old man of Coniston but but started from Coniston village instead of the walk car park. It was near the end of our decent that our Lexi hurt her paw which stopped us following any more of the walks so we had a couple of sightseeing days and a boat trip on Windermere. Having the GPX files probably wasn’t necessary for the walks we did but it was nice to have them in case we went off piste. Looking forward to returning at some point to tackle some more of the walks on this site. It is an excellent resource.
