My wife and I completed the ascent of Red Screes from the pub car park. It was an amazing experience for us as quite novice walkers. Our poles were a great help. It was a bit challenging near the top and hands were needed and the poles really should have been rucksacked for a while in my case, but I survived! Rather than descend the steep way, we walked back down on the Ambleside route and when we met The Struggle we walked back up to the pub. Overall an amazing day.
