214 Wainwrights in Seven Days

Ultrarunner Steve Birkinshaw is now on the fourth day of his attempt to break a 27-year-old record for getting to the summit of all of the Lake District's Wainwright peaks and so far it's all going to plan.

He started at 9am last Saturday morning outside the Moot Hall in the centre of Keswick and his aim is to beat the seven days and one hour record set by legendary Wasdale shepherd and fellrunner Joss Naylor back in 1986, which has not been broken since.

There is live tracking of Steve Birkinshaw's progress via his blog.
