Grizedale Red Kites

Seeing a bird of prey soaring in the sky hunting is just one of the most beautiful sights while out walking.

The last batch of Red Kites in a 3 year re-introduction program have recently been released in Grizedale Forest. There is a facebook page where you can keep up to date with what's happening. And read more information about them here: Grizedale Red Kites including where to email reports of sightings. Red Kites are relatively easily recognised by their reddish brown colouring, angled wings and quite long forked tail.
