We've been researching some walks around Grasmere recently and we've got some crackers for you to try now:
Grasmere
Rydal Water from the Coffin Road
A circuit of Grasmere - a short circular walk around the lake. An ideal introduction to Grasmere.
Grasmere and Rydal Water - a longer walk taking in both the lakes. Part of the route is along the old Coffin road, so called as it was the route used to take the dead of Rydal to the church in Grasmere for burial.
Alcock Tarn - a short steep walk to this high mountain tarn perched above the A591 on the other side from Grasmere village.
Silver How - a cracking little hill to the west of Grasmere with stunning views from the summit.
Helm Crag - a visit to "The Howitzer", north of Grasmere.
WalkLakes recognises that hill walking, or walking in the mountains, is an activity with a danger of personal injury or death.
Participants in these activities should be aware of and accept these risks and be responsible for their own actions.
