[See later comment on this post - we've now dropped Azure]

Microsoft have deprecated their Bing aerial photography layer, which is available to all logged in user in our GPX mapping app and it's due to be turned off on 30th June.

To replace it we have added a new Azure aerial photography layer. This is identical to Bing except it only goes to zoom 18, not 19. Here's a screen shot of it in action:

For cost reasons this new layer is only available to supporters but, for now at least, everyone who is logged in can still use ESRI Imagery which, although not quite as good as Bing, is generally quite usable.

We have had to stop using Azure as Microsoft are charging us far too much money, even with only supporters using it. We've therefore switched to Google imagery, again only for supporters.

ESRI remains available to all logged in users.
