Starting from Chapel House Farm I followed the walled track around the foot of Rosthwaite Fell into The Combe. Picking up a path at Dry Gill I followed this up to Tarn at Leaves and then up and to the summit of Rosthwaite Fell, or at least the summit Wainwright designated as his chosen top. Leaving Rosthwaite Fell which is also known as Bessyboot I headed over to Glaramara on an indistinct path across the boggy grassland. The path heads around to the rear of the fell and there is a short airy walk across the top of pinnacle bield. Good views from the summit of the big hills to the south and the Borrowdale valley and Derwentwater to the north. Leaving the top I picked up the ridge leading to Thorneythwaite Crag and then dropped back down into The Combe making my way back to the campsite along the Borrowdale road.
