Even on a good day we found the ground hard going. Calling it the 'Terrace Route' on the map suggested to me there would be a clear well travelled path. There is not. So yes you gain height gradually over 4 miles but all the way up and down your feet get a pounding. I suspect the first 2 miles would be disconcerting in poor visibility, in sunshine and with gps I was still not 100% sure of the route.
