A walk from Grasmere taking in four Wainwright’s and returning via Alcock Tarn. A good day out with a steady climb up from Grasmere to Stone Arthur where the village and its Lake can be admired. A walk up the ridge to Great Rigg follows and the scenery becomes more mountainous in character with views over to Fairfield. The West ridge of the Fairfield horseshoe is then followed over Heron Pike and onto the pretty top of Nab Scar. Return to Grasmere via Alcock Tarn where you can dip your feet in the water if it’s a hot summers day.
