A short walk up and down from St Peter’s Church. Not really a lot to say about a walk up Hallin Fell. Little effort is needed and the path is grass all the way. Linger a while though on the summit to take in the views from the large cairn over Ullswater. I did try to persuade the missus to try a different route down but she had her eye on Sunday lunch so like the Grand Old Duke of York we marched up and back down again. Take in some history by visiting the 8th century Yew tree in the grounds of the 16th Century St Martins Old Church and Queen Victoria post box.
