After a couple of years of 'average' weather, this was our first walk of the 2022 holiday and it was glorious. From the handy car park by Bassenthwaite the walk started through lovely cool woodland before heading out on to the open fell side and the top of Sale Fell.

The return leg also went through the woods which gave some welcome shade. Having parked on the shores of the lake the girls enjoyed a cooling swim afterwards.

The sun peaking through the trees above Bassenthwaite

Somewhere on Sale Fell. Stunning weather.

Me, kids + dog on Sale Fell top.
