Time taken:4:24

Wanting to avoid the parking issues we took on the long slog up Catbells from our rented house in Keswick. It's a long but pleasant trek through Portinscale and various parks and woods before hitting the slopes of Catbells.

Neither of the girls are any good with scrambling and unfortunately had to turn back at the first scrambly bit which was a real shame. Me, the boy and the dog pushed on to the top through the mist and drizzle before dropping down the eastern side of the fell and taking the same route back to Keswick.

At 9 miles it's a bit of a slog but nice to avoid any parking challenges if staying in Keswick.

Sparky and a misty Derwent Water

Catbells

Lovely view from the top!

Classic walk, although the weather wasn't kind to you. And I'm impressed that the hound did nine miles with such short legs.
