We had notification this morning of a serious vulnerability in PHP, which is the language in which the server side components of our web site and GPS mapping app are written. We have been advised to disable file uploads until this is fixed, as otherwise this could compromise our server. We have now done that.

This means that you cannot upload GPXs but you can still create routes and download them.

You also cannot upload either GPXs or photos to this forum.

Our apologies for this but it's the only safe way to proceed. We will update here once we have a patch in place.

On the wider issue this vulnerability affects any site written in PHP, which a great many are, so if you own a web site and I would advise you to contact whoever created your web site for you to ensure you are not vulnerable more widely.
