Fairfield

In mist the flat, grass and stony, plateau with its many cairns can be an intimidating place. East and north lay crags falling into upper Deepdale, a remote and inhospitable place to be lost. Often climbed from the south near Ambleside the Fairfield horseshoe presents the walker with grass slopes and high skylines.
