Grasmere Walks
The small village of Grasmere located in the heart of the Lakes is an ideal base for walkers, with a wide variety of hills and surrounding countryside there is going to be something suitable for everyone. Here's a selection of our walks from Grasmere:
Grasmere
- A circuit of Grasmere - a short circular walk around Grasmere lake passing Wordsworth Trust Shop, and Dove Cottage.
- Grasmere and Rydal Water - a longer version of the first walk which also takes you to Rydal Water via the Coffin road.
- Stone Arthur, Great Rigg, Heron Pike and Nab Scar - a rather more challenging walk of 12.5km with 800m of ascent but you do get to bag 4 Wainwrights, 5 Birketts, 3 Nuttalls, 1 Hewitt, and 2 sub Hewitts for your efforts.
- Steel Fell, Calf Crag, Gibson Knott and Helm Crag - a fine walk along a high ridge to the iconic Howitzer at Helm Crag.
- Silver How - a short walk but some great views and a tea shop thrown in for good measure.
