The Newlands Horseshoe is the name given to the hills lying around Newlands Beck, a stream which eventually drains down into Bassenthwaite Lake. Keen walkers tackle the principal hills of the Horseshoe in one day but it's a big day out with over 1100m of ascent and 18km of walking.
We prefer the less strenuous option of doing the hills over two walks, although still making two grand days out, and each including three Wainwrights and so we have two "half Newlands" to offer you:
Together these walks make two excellent days walking which we hope you'll enjoy. And if they don't wet your appetite we've lots of other walks for you to try around the Lake District of all sorts of types.
