Today sees the start of the Lake District National Park Authority's programme of guided walks, starting today with a Family Stroll to Orrest Head and a walk Hills, Gills and Falls which includes Holme Fell with views over Coniston Water. The programme runs right through until 26th December. Friendly and knowledgeable volunteer leaders will help you to discover quiet corners with breathtaking views – and keep you entertained, informed and safe. The walks are graded to help you choose one that matches your ability.

Most are free (although donations are welcome) and some, based at Grasmere, also include the opportunity to improve your navigational skills.

We have all of them loaded them all into our calendar which makes it easy to find one for you, especially if you use Google Calendar as your calendar (and if you've got an Android phone you probably do) as you can add our calendar as one of your "Other calendars" by clicking on the button at the bottom of our calendar.
