Bank Holiday Walks to the Cathedral

The forecast for this weekend looks good at the moment and if you're new to walking the Lake District National Park Authority have some walks this bank holiday weekend as part of their complete programme of free guided walks over the year which may appeal. You can find them all listed in our Lake District Calendar.

In particular on Saturday they have a Family Walk to Cathedral Cave (aka Cathedral Cavern, describing it as a "cave" is rather underselling it to be honest as it's big). It's a walk of 4.3miles or 7.0km.

Alternatively, if you want to walk at your own pace, we have a route to Cathedral Cavern from Elterwater which also give you two waterfalls: Skelwith Force and Colwith Force as well as the mighty cavern. It's a little longer at 12.5km but we think you might enjoy it.
